This book is an inspiration for any mom who's going through a separation and/or divorce, and wondering "what happens to my love life now?!" or "Will I ever have a love life again?" Delaine Moore chronicles her adventures in dating (post-divorce) with extreme candor and humor, and gives the reader real hope that anything is possible if you let yourself experience a sex life without regard to other people's opinions or attitudes. It's about you and making yourself happy -- no strings attached. It will make you laugh and cry. It will make you think about your marriage and why it didn't work, and maybe give you some "a-ha" moments.

This book will give you courage to start dating again, if that's what you need (she discusses lots of online escapades, too). And, it will be hard to put it down once you start reading it. It's that good--thoroughly enjoyable and a great escape!

Being a single mom, I could relate to this story on many levels. It made me laugh. I love how candid she was. I also give her credit for dedicating the book to her mother. There is no way I would want to share with my mother, the dildo scene in Las Vegas! OMG and I'm pretty open with my mother. I ABSOLUTELY ENJOYED IT!!

I have to say I really enjoyed this book. I read it in less than two weeks. It was like a company to compare in some ways and in other understand and learn about others, beside laugh which I really need sometimes. I would recommend to any women that wants to see itself and understand some sides that sometimes is hard to share with others.

This was a great book to read! I was very into it. I'm not married or divorced but Delaine shows that there is certainly life after divorce! She was quite brave to share her personal life with the world! Kudos to her!

I also found it very scary and sad to be married to such a miserable, verbally abuse person. I believe Delaine Moore showed tremendous courage leaving her husband...especially since she was a stay-at-home mom for years, but I've wondered how she got by when she was separated with her husband, had three kids, and still didn't work.

The Secret Sex Life of a Single Mom follows the journey of Delaine, a, guess what, single mom(!) and how she finds herself. Delaine is in an emotionally and verbally abusive marriage of neglect and disinterest from her husband. She finds out her husband was having an affair, they try to work it out, and she ends up having an affair with her married acupuncturist Graham. She and Graham decide to end their respective marriages and he needs some space so these episodes don't taint their new future relationship. Except Graham is having an affair with another woman and knocked her up. Dundunduuuuuuunnnnn! Delaine is heartbroken and even more hurt by men.

So we begin her journey of self discovery and online dating. This book was billed as "If you liked 50 Shades...." and to be honest I really didn't see it. There was one very mild BDSM scene at the very end of the book. The rest was her hooking up with random guys and trying to become an "Alpha Woman". She "meets" a man online who calls himself The Duke, and they start up an email correspondence where he is guiding her to becoming a strong Alpha Woman who uses Beta Men for sex.

This book was ok. I liked Delaine and I was interested to read her winding path through a lot of men. To me she just dithered a lot. I'm not judging her for her promiscuity, I just wasn't super into reading about her having a lot of meaningless sex with random dudes. And squirting. The one relationship that she did get something from didn't pan out because he lives on the west coast and she lives in Canada. Which I get. She dithers about neglecting her kids, which she does a lot of the time it seemed.

Overall it was ok. Was it the next 50 Shades? Not even close.

Enjoyed the story but it seemed to move a little slow. I found the story to be realistic to the feelings and betrayal of a young woman.
