I am the author of the book, but I received these 2 emails from Ryan Hardy, a professional golfer from Canada and Darren Reed, a rugby player from Australia:

"I was off to bed after a long night at 2 A.M. and decided to read a few pages of your book before shutting the old brain down. Sure enough it's 6 A.M. and I've read the whole thing straight through twice (and I'm not a big reader, this may be the first time I've read something twice straight through in my life) and think I've retained every word. And to start let me say thank you for giving me the privilege and opportunity of seeing your's and Buddy's life work on paper. I truly see how much effort and time you and Buddy have put into this, and frankly I don't think you could have made the message any simpler.

You're sitting on a revolutionary and dynamic process that WILL revolutionize the future of athletics and sport physiology. I couldn't be more excited for you and Buddy as you continue on your journey, and I cannot wait to initialize your findings and theories in to my own golf career, which fortunately is just taking off so this couldn't have come at a better time, to be honest.

I'm not sure if you're familiar with the movie "Jerry Maguire" but I'm about as enlightened as Jerry Maguire was when he wrote his mission statement. You and Buddy have opened my eyes to a whole new level of comprehension that I've never even imagined before. As I read chapter after chapter, flashes of countless memories (all the way back to ages 8-10 and on) rolled through my head. As I dug further and further in to my memory bank, of my epic triumphs and career meltdowns/chokes based on mental mistakes, IT ALL MADE PERFECT SENSE AND JUST CLICKED LIKE NEVER BEFORE IN MY LIFE!

Awesome! One of the best books I have read in years. It is not another book that teachs mechanics. It gets you to understand the mind-body connection. As a PGA Professional this is what I feel is the missing link in golf. When people get bogged down in mistakes, the conscious thoughts get in the way. This book unlocks the secrets of how to think in the subconscious, where you can perform at your highest effective level. No matter what the sport of choice is.

The book identifies very good concepts to master, but does not instruct or identify ways to master those concepts. Agree that the reader / athlete should do those things discussed, but HOW?. Don't inderstand why the writers didn't take the next step and instruct the reader "how" to master the concepts discussed. Kind of leaves you hanging........

Format: Paperback
I began playing sports at an early age. As I grew older and began to compete in organized team sports, I began to recognize that I had a more difficult time playing under pressure than when I was relaxed. I also began playing a musical instrument at an early age and ended up becoming a professional musician for a number of years. I noticed, for example, in the recording studio situation, I could be in a relaxed and fully expressive state but when the red record light went on, I sometimes became stiff, made mistakes, played at a lower level than I knew I was capable of and the more I tried to concentrate/ focus, the more difficulty I had. In both sports and music performance, I noticed a difference in my performance when I was relaxed, having fun, not too concerned about the outcome versus when the pressure was on and I was expected and wanted to perform at a high level. I thought that by concentrating/focusing more intensely, my performance would improve. It didn't. When I first met Buddy and was exposed to his work it made sense to me immediately - I knew what I was doing before wasn't working. After doing the training and reading his book, Seven Secrets of World Class Athletes, I realize why my previous efforts to perform at the highest levels I was capable of often failed while my experiences when I was relaxed and unpressured were more successful. His training has given me the tools that allow me to express my natural and well-practiced skills without getting in my own way. I did the training with my 10 year old son who is beginning his sports career and I am grateful that he will have the tools to deal with fear, pressure to perform, etc that have the potential to limit his performance to less than the level he is capable of performing at.

Steve Yellin has created a masterpiece with this book. The concepts are easy to grasp and produce quick results. I was an 8 handicap when I read the book and started to work with Steve. On my third day, I was able to shoot 73 with a double bogey on the last hole. It will create a calmness and level of confidence that will allow you to perform to a much higher level.

A must read!

As a collegiate Head Baseball Coach I am constantly looking for a competitive/instructional edge. Following a season of almosts and just not quite enoughs, I wanted to try to discover how to train our players to get "into and stay in the zone". I realized that I might be chasing something that was unattainable as we have worked on "mental toughness" for years with mixed results. This book is NOT sports psychology. This book is sports BIOLOGY! There are very few new things in sports today. The advent of the internet and 24-7 internet connectivity has connected the world and revealed it to everyone in the palm of their hands. This was something completely new all together! I have read just about every resource on Zone Training and Sports Psychology and after reading this book, I was beyond impressed! I was so impressed that I reached out to the authors and enrolled in lessons with Buddy who provided me with practical instruction that has now become THE foundational building block for which our program is based upon! Our players are believers because frankly it works! If you are looking to enhance your golf game or any other athletic endeavor, (take it from me a previously awful golfer) this program will yield immediate results. I believe that this training program/protocols will be a common thing in the sports training in the very near future! One reviewer stated that this book doesn't provide the actual program itself. They are somewhat correct in that sense. HOWEVER, the very reasonable price of the book and the background knowledge of the training program is ESSENTIAL to getting to and staying in the zone by activating The Fluid Motion Factor! One of the co-authors Steve Yellin is now consulting with David Ledbetter to teach his program to his golf-instructors.Read more ›
