5.0 out of 5 stars A Must for Michael and Maria fans
This book is probably my second favorite in the series, next to the first. It is a must for Micahel and Maria fans, and for the other couples as well. In the book, Maria has Nicolas's ring that she picked up that night at the mall. She notices that the ring gives her some powers, such as healing, and most importantly, she can see what someone is doing at that moment...

3.0 out of 5 stars Would've been better as part of another book, had rushed feel to it
I wonder how quickly Melinda Metz cranked these books out? This one had a rushed feel to it. Near the end of Book #2 "The Wild One" Maria found a mysterious gold ring on the floor of the Mall and the gang learned that the owner of the UFO museum was in fact an alien, the alien responsible for rescuing them from the shipwreck.

Maria suddenly develops, she...

This book is probably my second favorite in the series, next to the first. It is a must for Micahel and Maria fans, and for the other couples as well. In the book, Maria has Nicolas's ring that she picked up that night at the mall. She notices that the ring gives her some powers, such as healing, and most importantly, she can see what someone is doing at that moment.

Meanwhile her relationship with Michael is growing. She doesn't know if what he feels for her is merely a big brother kind of love, but she knows that she definitely likes him. In this book we get to have a glimpse into Michael's life, and his rough time at the foster homes.

Isabel is still despondant over losing Nickolas, but Alex is still there for her, even though she tossed him aside for Nickolas.

The three aliens are learning a lot more about who they are and how they came to be here, from Ray. He is also teaching them some special powers.

Max tells Liz that they will never be together, and so she is very angry and very hurt, and as a result desides to forget him and move on. She tries going on some unsuccessful dates with a guy named Jerry. Max, who still loves Liz, spies on her by shape-shifting, but she recognizes him.

Every time Maria uses the ring, unknown to the others, to help find their ship, she experiances some frightening consequences. And then one night while going to visit her, Michael sees her passed out on the floor with a bloody nose, a result of using the ring. Now he and the gang must save her from a certain death...

This book is a great one because it explores all of the characters more deeply. --Rachel

5.0 out of 5 stars Continuing saga of Roswell high teens gets better & better!!, April 27, 1999

I love how Ms. Metz writes these books with a center point on 2 characters but never loses track of the story. Take #1 - Max and Liz...#2 - Alex and Isabel, #3 - Maria and Michael. You get to learn about each character more and more in each book without getting confused to who's doing what when and why...I loved how she wrote in Maria finding the strange glowing ring and she had these psychic powers when she used it. You can really see how badly Maria wanted to know what its like to be "one of them". The whole book pulls at your heart strings in romance, makes your heart stop for action and suspense, and always wanting more!!

5.0 out of 5 stars It is da bomb!, November 29, 1998

Maria has a secret - the ring she found gives her strange powers. Whenever she wears it, she can see through the eyes of other people. Which means she can look through Sheriff Valenti's eyes to find the wrecked spaceship. And if that doesn't get Michael to notice her, she doesn't know what will. . . . Michael is thrilled that Maria wants to help him search for his parents' ship. Especially since it gives him an excuse to spend time with her. But he can't help wondering about this new power she has. Where did the power come from? And more importantly, could it put Maria in danger? Roswell High, No 4 is called The Watcher

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Roswell High Book!, January 3, 2002
By
Having read all ten Roswell High books I have come to conclude that The Seeker is Ms. Metz's best yet! My favorite couple was always Max and Liz however the Seeker really got me interested in Michael and Maria. They share many great scenes including making a cake together, teaching Michael's "little brother" how to dance, and watching horror movies late at night. Ms. Melinda Metz's great writing brings Michael and Maria to life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Melinda Metz really knows how to put you on the edge!, December 21, 1998
This Book is about The Stones of Midnight, which Maria finds on a ring at the mall while hiding from Valentini (Book 2: The Wild One). Maria suddenly has powers to see what other people are doing at that time, but what she doesn't know is that it is putting her in grave danger. The book as an open ending that drives you crazy after you've finished it. I just finished the book like, 5 minutes ago and I can't wait for Book 4!!! Warning: If you haven't read books one and two, this book isn't as good, so for goodness sakes, get one and two!

what anyone around her is doing. she automatically assumes it is
a long dormant power that has been activated by her being around
aliens. as her relationship with michael grows, she decides to
help michael and max find their spaceship with the ring. but
little does she know that everytime she uses it, it draws all of
them into danger.

5.0 out of 5 stars Roswell High #4....The Seeker, March 6, 2000
By
Liz (Pennsylvania, USA) - See all my reviews
When Max Evans reaches the age of his akino, an alien ritual which is like a bar mitzvah or confirmation for human people. When aliens become mature they have to reach the "physic Internet" for aliens. If you do not "connect" than you will die. The only problem is that the crystals Max needs are on his parents crashed spaceship. He doesn't have much time...

Liz Ortecho is worried about Max. She can't stand to see him "dying". She decides that she needs to help him at all costs, even risking her own life for him. She knows that Max wouldn't approve, but right now this is more important to her. If only she could figure out how she could help...

This book is an awesome blend of teen romance, friendships, and putting yourself to the ultimate test.

4.0 out of 5 stars Review by Patricia's Particularity, June 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am a huge huge Roswell fan!! The Seeker focuses mostly on Maria's and Michael's relationship. After the Roswell crew were connected together in the first installment, The Outsider, they have all become very close - the best of friends. There isn't anything they wouldn't do for each other. For Maria this means helping Michael with one things he wants the most: to find the ship Michael, Izzy, and Max crashed in during the Roswell Crash so he can go back home to his planet.

Maria has found a way to help him! After finding Nikolas' ring Maria starts to have "special powers" herself. When she wears the ring she is able to tap into people's minds. However, as with any powers, there are consequences of which no one knows about as Maria has decided to keep this all a secret. After she finally confides in Michael, the consequences of these new powers start to become obvious, and deadly. Every time she puts on the ring she literally invites others to find her, who in turn are actually looking for the Roswell aliens. Soon Maria finds herself in a life and death situation!

Meanwhile, in the midst of all this there are the wonderful and complex relationships Melinda Metz has created. Maria and Michael become even closer. They are starting to see each other in a different light... But can they see the other as more than a brother and sister?? Izzy is a complete mess over Nickolas' death, who was shot/murdered by the very scary Sheriff Valenti. Alex is still there for her unwavering without complaint or demand. Then there is Max and Liz (my favorite couple of the series - I can't help it). Max still just wants to be friends with Liz, even though they both know they love each other and they are obviously meant to be together (as are all the 'couples'). Liz even tries to get over Max by going out on a date, which ends in more proof that they are meant to be together.

As with all the Roswell installments, Melinda Metz has created a wonderful story line and unique characters. One aspect of this series that makes it stand out the most is Melinda Metz's use of multiple points of views. Each character is given the opportunity to speak. Not only does this bring more depth and complexity to the characters, it brings many plot lines together to form one cohesive plot, which Melinda Metz does superbly! If you are a fan of the TV show you must read this series!

Maria suddenly develops, she thinks, psychic powers (and doesn't tell the others at first)The UFO guy tells them the story of their arrival on Earth and eventually helps save Maria & Michael's lives . Maria's ring is from the Alien homeworld, Nikolas had been wearing it, and her use of it has endangered her life in part because some sort of alien hunters are after her. I wasn't too clear on all of this but it seemed to be some sort of telepathic connection.

I've read the first four books in the series now, working on the fifth, and this one is my least favorite yet.
