More About the Author

Best-selling "Letting Go" author Guy Finley's encouraging and accessible message is one of the true bright lights in our world today. His ideas cut straight to the heart of our most important personal and social issues - relationships, success, addiction, stress, peace, happiness, freedom - and lead the way to a higher life.

Finley is the acclaimed author of The Secret of Letting Go and more than 40 other books and audio programs that have sold over a million copies in 18 languages worldwide. In addition, he has presented over 4,000 unique self-realization seminars to thousands of grateful students throughout North America and Europe over the past 30 years and has been a guest on over 500 television and radio shows, including national appearances on ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, NPR, Wisdom Network, and many others. His syndicated weekly radio program is aired on several international networks including Healthy Life Radio, Achieve Radio, Sedona Talk Radio, and Healthlife.net. Guy is a faculty member at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, New York and is a regular expert contributor to Beliefnet, the Huffington Post, and is a guest panelist for HuffPost Live.

Finley is Director of Life of Learning Foundation, the renowned non-profit Center for Self-study in Merlin, Oregon, and his popular Key Lesson e-mails are read each week by over 200,000 subscribers in 142 countries. His work is widely endorsed by doctors, business professionals, celebrities, and religious leaders of all denominations.

Guy's career reached this point through a circuitous path. Born into a successful show business family, he is the son of Late-Night TV and radio pioneer Larry Finley. His childhood friends were the sons and daughters of the most famous celebrities in the world. As a young man Guy enjoyed success in a number of areas including composing award-winning music for many popular recording artists including Diana Ross, Debbie Boone, The Jackson 5, Billy Preston, The Four Seasons, as well as writing the scores for several motion pictures and TV shows. From 1970-1979 he wrote and recorded his own albums under the Motown and RCA recording labels.

Throughout his youth, Guy suspected there was more to life than the type of worldly success that led to the emptiness and frustration he saw among his own "successful" friends and colleagues. In 1979, after travels throughout North America, India and the Far East in search of truth and Higher Wisdom, Guy voluntarily retired from his flourishing music career in order to simplify his life and to concentrate on deeper self-studies.

In addition to his writing and appearance schedule, Guy presents four inner-life classes each week at Life of Learning Foundation headquarters in Merlin, Oregon. These classes are ongoing and open to the public. For more information about Guy Finley, and his life-changing work, visit www.guyfinley.org

Having worked at the Bodhi Tree bookstore for many years, I have never seen a book like this that brings together the Masters and teachings of many different paths in such a deep and powerful way.

From Gurdjieff to Yogananda, Shakespeare to Einstein, the Diamond Sutra to the Holy Bible (just to name a few!), this book opens ones heart and mind to experience the one Truth found within all authentic spiritual teachings.

In a world that is so divided this book is truly a healing force much needed. I am diving into it daily and I highly recommend it.

This book has awakened in me a realization of who I really am and what I really want in life. And it shows that the same longing that lives in me lives in every other human being. By the time you reach the end of this book, you know that every great teacher and teaching from the beginning of time has been telling your personal story, and that you can experience - and are meant to experience - everything they did. It makes your whole life make sense. What a beautiful, encouraging, and inspiring book.

I find that while I read the stunning quotes in this book, and begin to get a glimpse that spiritual experience is universal, it quiets me. Perhaps it is because, as the author explains, "Whenever, through our exploration of life, we come upon some "seed of fire" - some new thought or insight that awakens us to a part of ourselves unknown only a moment before - we realize that we are not alone."

I'm glad to finally see a book that really shows how all religions are born from the same source. Some how we've lost our way and this book brings us back to our original roots. I'm very grateful someone finally put this book together so that even a mountain man can see this truth.

The plethora of religions, by itself, is a source of stress and anxiety - at least it has been for me. How can they be so different and all be true at the same time? A seemingly unanswerable question. But this book has helped me see that all religions evolved from and have their roots in a common - Truth. This Truth is what I seek - and what I have found in this great little book.

I loved reading what the Masters from the Ages have had to say. Guy shows clearly the continuity and timelessness of these healing ideas. Reading them inspired me - my spirit was instantly lifted! Anyone who reads this book will be touched, I'm sure, just as I was.

Any seeker of Truth begins his/her search for the sacred because they are driven to do so by some vague sense of discontent, or a poignant awareness that something vitally important is missing -- something that no human relationship, no power, prestige or wealth has been able to satisfy. Then, if their heart compels them, they begin the Great Journey and follow in the footsteps of 'giants' who preceded them on The Path.

In The Seeker, The Search, The Sacred, along with his own enlightened commentary, Guy Finley has shared with the world a compendium of the wisdom of the ages -- truthful discoveries in the form of quotations from fellow seekers and masters throughout human history, taken from all faiths, all regions of the world, all cultures.

The bottom line message? For me, it was the loving reminder that we are all the same, all One, and in our heart of hearts, we all want the same thing -- to unite with the Divine. This wonderful book is a powerful aid and reminder in that regard.

I found this book to be inspiring, encouraging and helpful in my work to become a true human being. This is a book to keep close, and to read over and over again.
