People (like me) have paid (happily) a great deal of money for advice she has generously shared with her readers in this book. It will be one of the best values you can possibly find.
And if you're considering it, that just shows you are her audience: a self aware parent!
Fran Walfish is one of the rare individuals who can be so described. While books pertaining to psychotherapy have become so generic in our culture, reflecting an all-too-tired set of opinions from the point of view of "I know how it is, and this book will enlighten you", Dr. Walfish delivers her message from a place of deep empathy and compassion...and does so with the radiant warmth of an abundant, loving heart. And, she's funny!
Treat yourself to her gentle insight. This book will help you improve your relationship with your children; there can be no greater gift.
As a therapist, I found her book sharp and beneficial to my practice; as a parent, I am amazed at her insight into the parental condition and what we can do to better our approach to parenting, thus deepening the parent/child relationship.
