The second book in the Sky's Dark Labyrinth is a gripping read. The characters are well developed and Clark doesn't shy away from uncomfortable subjects and some of their darker actions. He introduction of fictitious characters to portray that nature of exchanges between the protagonists is mechanism that works well in that aspect, but also helps to portray some of the paranoia of the time.
