Smart savvy advice from real women who "get" it. Easy to read and understand. Practical tips. You don't need a finance degree or MBA to find this book useful. It's a wonderful tool for women of all ages. The authors speak to you not at you. Important advice -- worth the read! And makes a great gift!

Great advice for someone starting to plan their retirement (me)as well as for a recent college graduate beginning to manage her own finances (my daughter). Lots of common sense thinking as well as some fresh ideas that are "outside the box". Pearls of wisdom, indeed.

Format: Hardcover
As with many books on personal finance and wealth building, I felt this book was too simplified for real-world application. For example, the authors discuss the importance of starting your own business. While starting a business is a great way to build wealth, they made it seem starting a busy was as simple as opening a Twitter account and a blog. Starting a business is a very time-consuming process. The authors also stated that you can set your own hours, while at the same time admitting it is often the same or more time-consuming than a full-time job. Which is it: Set your own hours or put in as much time as a real job?

Don't get me wrong, I think these authors offer some good advice on how to protect wealth, but I felt early in the book, this book is for women who already have wealth. This book does not help very much someone just starting out. It may help them to develop some long-term goals, but I still question whether the advice provided will help someone attain those long-term goals.

If there's one thing I learned from this book--and I learned many, many things--it's that every woman has power, whether she's wealthy or not, and that recognizing and using her power can make a woman much more comfortable and secure no matter what stage of life she's in. Powerful women know how to talk about money; they know how to use it and take care of it. This ability is within every woman's grasp. I highly recommend Seven Pearls as not only an interesting, vivid read but also as a wake-up call to those of us who have been financially "slumbering."

Delightfully eclectic collection of ideas, advice and viable information for women of all backgrounds and financial means. Such an easy read, but full of salient facts and figures to help women of all ages help themselves - never shallow or "fluffy", but always accessible, I found this book to be not only a speedy and enjoyable read, but one that I would want to dip into again and again as a no-nonsense guide to navigating financial challenges from a female perspective. Kudos!
