Editorial Reviews

From the Author

The Seventh Pillar is the third book in the PROJECT series, after White Jade (Book One) and The Lance (Book Two). The relationship between Selena Connor and Nick Carter continues to change and develop as Selena becomes hardened to the violent life of a PROJECT team member, while Nick continues to deal with his PTSD and inner demons.

The PROJECT is a small black ops unit that reports only to the President. It has a lot of freedom, which gives me a lot of choices. I am completely absorbed in this series and enjoy being able to develop the characters over a period of time. The books feature strong male and female characters and appeal to women as well as men.

This third book stands on its own. You don't have to be familiar with the previous books to know what's going on. If The Seventh Pillar is the first book you try, you will want to read the others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nail-biting action! May 15, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
With half his normal team out of commission, Stephanie and Nick team up with Selena, the rookie, to track down the group behind recent political murders. A strange symbol left on the victims leads them to a secret group of assassins and a fanatic terrorist who believes he has found the "sign" directing him to set off the End of Days, starting with the infidels in New York. From Washington to Timbuktu, from the brutal African desert to the frozen mountains of the Hindu Kush, the team races to uncover the truth in time to save the world from an apocalyptic religious war.

Although this is the third in "The Project" series, it reads perfectly well as a stand-alone story. Full of action, adventure, thrills, and chills - it's a real edge-of-your-seat read. Mr. Lukeman has done an excellent job in weaving all the details into a spine-tingling account. You can tell the facts were well-researched, and described perfectly. It's well-written, fast paced, and superbly edited. What a ride - I can't wait to read the rest of his books!

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW It just keeps getting better !!! March 13, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I just finished this book and I need a week's vacation. I followed Nick and Selena and the guys at the Project in planes, over the dessert, in helicopters, from one end of the continent to the other. I have saved the free world. I am tired and elated as this newest book was everything that I thought it would be.

Nick Carter is my hero. He is dedicated to not stop until he has it right. He has many issues he fights privately, but his love for his country cannot be doubted. Elizabeth Harker, Director of the group has been injured and needs to recover from her injuries sustained in our last book The Lance, needing to sit this one out. Nick and Stephanie Willits (Elizabeth's second) are jointly running The Project as Co-Directors.

The Project is a very small, not so elite group, which has our Presidents `ear.' We are now at six with Lamont and Ronnie, who are ex military. The `quiet surprise' to our group is Selena Connor, who from the beginning of this series has shown us she can do everything and more! So our group is tough and now has to even tough it up more when Ron and Lamont are injured very early in the game.

The British Foreign Secretary is murdered, and then headlines tell us a US Senator and his family is killed. At the scene of both deaths the murderers have left a Symbol on their bodies. Is it a telling clue? Our Selena takes up the reins since Lamont and Ronnie have been injured in Africa, and she sets out for Timbuktu with Nick. With her background in reading and translating old languages, she feels going to this place that houses a library of 13th Century Arabic Manuscripts might aid them. Now attempts on their lives are made and they come to terms with the fact that their lives are in danger.

These stories Mr.

5.0 out of 5 stars A new favorite action/adventure author March 4, 2012
By Sandy B
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is the 3rd book in Alex Lukeman's series "The Project" An agency unlike thier counter partners, allowing them to accomplish thier missions. Having the presidents direct support and giving the "other" guys plausable denyability. A definite read for anyone who is high action/adventure enthusiast. Alex keeps the story plot moving, where you have to read just a little bit more before you put it down. Intriguing. Descriptions of both people a places are beliveable. Not only could you feel the heat in Timbuktu but you could smell it. The team carried over from "White Jade" and "The Lance" are well developed. Making for stong heroic charaters your willing to root for.
Nick, Ronnie, and Lamont your core ex-marine types that jell togeather. Dr. Elizabeth Harker the director of The Project, her co-director Stephnie and the newest member of the team Selena, the rookie. They delve into a plot of counter terrorism and jhad assassins and a ancient lost sword that when found is to have predicted the end of times in ledgends. Alex writes, "If the possible is eliminated, only the impossibe remains." This is how The Project works. Clive Cussler and Steve Berry are going to have some competion from Alex Lukeman. 5 star rating.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Seventh Pillar is a Winner August 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
THE SEVENTH PILLAR by Alex Lukerman is an odds on winner for an outstanding series or as a stand alone.
Nick Carter and team mate, Stephanie Willit face themselves as co-directors as The Project's director struggles for her life (THE LANCE). Neither knows how their forced partnership will work, but the President to whom they must answer expects results. They must make their skills work for the good of their partners whose lives depend on them.
A fact finding mission to Africa puts Lamont Cameron out of commission. Nick has no choice, but to use his lover and new recruit for field operations when a US senator and the British Foreign Secretary are murdered. The killer leaves behind an ancient symbol pointing to a fanatic group of assassins that disappeared from the pages of history seven hundred years ago.
Join Nick, Selena, and Ronnie as they race against time to the darkest of international hot spots to erase a link to Judgement Day. You will be glad you did then keep your eyes open for the next installment in this exciting series.
Nash Black, author of SANDPRINTS OF DEATH.
