This is such a great book with beautiful illustrations. It's such a shame this is out of print - it's so hard to find good copies.

This is a perfectly written rendition of Tolstoy's masterpiece "Where Love is, God is". It tells the story of Martin the Shoemaker who's deepest wish is to meet Jesus. When Jesus visits him in a dream and promises him that this will happen the next day, Martin awaits anxiously and excitedly for him. During his wait he's interrupted by 3 different visitors, all whom he serves. Could one of them be the one Martin's been waiting to meet?

You'll have to read it and see!

The story was perfect for the need I had. The pictures were simple but just right to share the meaning of the story.

Beautiful story and artwork. My children loved this when they were young, and since I can't bear to part with it, needed another to give to my grandchildren.

I purchased this book for my mother, who read it to my kids and the rest of her grandkids, who are now having kids of their own. As she is reaching the end of the proverbial road, she has decided to buy a copy for each of her grandkids to read to their kids, thus establishing a literary legacy. It's beautifully written and illustrated. A definite keeper.
