Though not specifically up to date on newer discoveries from scientific study of the Shroud of Turin, "The Silent Witness" gives an excellent overview of the vast amount of evidence debunking any theories attempting to prove the shroud is a fake.
I've personally viewed some of Dr. and Mrs. Alan Whanger's (Council for Study of the Shroud of Turin) research on the shroud, including the pollen collection discussed in this film, and I am kept up to date, through their newsletter, on new developments, including recent illumination of factors affecting carbon dating by Leoncio A. Garza-Valdes. The evidence in this overview, including information debunking the 1988 carbon dating, holds up, even as newer technology has been used to further substantiate the film's assertions. |
