  • The Real Simpsons: You wouldn’t want to hear Comic Book Guy voiced over by an actual comic-book shop guy, would you? Neither would we! That’s why we got the actual voice actors from the TV show and movie to reprise their roles, so the characters in The Simpsons Game sound exactly as they should.
  • Play Your Favorite Characters: play as all members of your favorite dysfunctional TV family as you battle to save them from video-game purgatory.

And thanks to some really smart guys using innovative 3D into 2D technology, it does! Add in a huge cast of Simpsons folks and an amazing level of interactivity and you’ve got a Simpsons experience like no other.
  • Haw-haw!: When The Simpsons aims its trademark wit at the video-game industry, nothing’s sacred! Pop culture and current-event parodies join the mix to deliver classic The Simpsons humor and then some!
  • They’re Simpsons and Then Some: The Simpsons family have been given special video-game powers! From Lisa’s Saxophone Spin to Homer’s Power Burp, these special abilities give the Simpsons a fighting chance against the video-game baddies.

4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome! November 4, 2007

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
As an avid gamer I'm always hesitant about licensed games but the Simpsons fan in me overrode my common sense, and thank god it did. While the game falls under fairly traditional platform game fair the puzzles are actually really well thought out. Using the two characters available to you per level you will be tasked with harnessing each member of the Simpsons family skills to advance. Something I found to be a lot of fun on my own but quickly became extra awesome with a friend. The comedy is spot on and all of the voice actors loan their talents to make the game feel like an episode of the TV show. The only major gripe I have is the typical platform game camera that rarely points in the right direction without your hands on control. Definitely worth the d'oh!

The Simpsons have ventured into the world of video games before, with largely unsuccessful results. Now that EA has acquired the video game license rights, we get The Simpsons Game, which puts you in the shoes of America's favorite animated family. The first thing you'll notice is how good the game looks. Remember that this is a late in life PS2 game, but it looks surprisingly sharp and wonderfully captures the look and atmosphere of Springfield and it's inhabitants. The game also features voice work from the cast of the long running show, and they're all great as well, while the game's story and dialogue are frequently funny, and more than frequently spoof popular video games to boot. What really stops The Simpsons Game from being something special are the many technical problems that plague the game. First off, the in-game camera is schizoid to say the least, and will more often than not seem to work against you. Not to mention that the game's controls are pretty loose and unresponsive, combined with the somewhat shallow gameplay and repetitiveness, and the fact that the game can be finished in one sitting. If you can look past all these negatives though, you'll find one of the few licensed games that actually does it's license justice, but falls short in the gameplay department. That aside though, for any and every fan of the long running show, The Simpsons Game is definitely worth a look at the very least, and maybe next time EA will put on a finishing polish that will give us something really special.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing November 14, 2007

I tried playing this game twice and will probably never go back to it. The controls and the camera are very sloppy and amateurish. Pointing out 'cliche' gameplay doesn't make it any better; it's still fairly boring. Maybe later levels would be better but I just cannot be bothered playing to them. I thought Hit 'n' Run a much better game.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT GAME FOR FANS!! January 11, 2008
Platform for Display:PlayStation2
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I got this game for my husband, who is a major Simpson's fan. He loves it and is often laughing at the content and pleased with the quality. He and our daughter play it together and have a great time with it. My husband remarked that it reminds him of the Tomb Raider games as far as how it is set-up (meaning that its not a cheesy rip-off of a cartoon show with poorly constructed game play) and that was another vote in its favor as he's also a fan of the Tomb Raider games for playstation. Perfect game for anyone that loves the Simpson's.

3.0 out of 5 stars d'oh! November 17, 2007

Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
Look, I love the Simpsons. I've been watching it for over 19 years now. I've been playing their games since the early 90s on the NES and playing games like "Bart vs. the Space Mutants". The games are really not that good. The game companies just milk and overkill the Simpsons name in an attempt to make money. It happens all the time with other games as well. This game has some positive things going for it such as really spectacular graphics and some fun puzzle games, but don't expect the game to stand the test of time. That's the difference between the animated comedy we see every Sunday night and the video games. The TV show rules, the games don't.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love the Simpsons! September 27, 2012

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Being a Simpsons fan I had to own this game, which I bought for twenty dollars a few years ago at Walmart. I'm glad that they kept it in the same style as the series. My favorite part is when Bart and Homer battle the Lard Lad statue. The game isn't to difficult to play, but it can become addicting. This is the best out of the few Simpsons games that have been made.

ok,i have been playing this game off and on for two years. The first time i played it i did not put it down for 6 hours. it keeps you wanting to see what the next level will bring you. its not over the top, its simple but has cool things within it. i get frustrated when i get stuck, as there are some hard tasks to complete. there are awesome reasons to Finish levels!! like funny show videos and video game cliche memo's. there are some blast from the NES past things, little fun tid bits,so on so on. just lots of fun!!

I myself am stuck on the level where homer is a gummy bear and has to stop Marge's sisters. They are double headed dragons burning down straw houses. i cannot beat this level the task seems like it cannot be completed, i am so frigging pissed, i have not played the game in a year. other than this, i recommend this game to anyone who loves NES, SUPER NES and PS2 games and likes the Simpsons too... this game stinks on other consoles, i repeat only good for PS2. DON'T LISTEN TO THE HATERS OF THIS GAME, ITS COOL. NOT GROUND BREAKING BUT FUN...
