The list author says: "There are many fans of The Simpsons out there. And I mean a LOT. So, the brilliant minds at 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment thought "Wow. So many people love The Simpsons. If only there was a way...that we could give it to the people. So they can hold it in the palm of their hand. That's it! A series box set! Wait, the series isn't over yet and it doesn't look like it will for a long time. Oh well, we can always go to the next best thing: Season box sets!" And so they did. On September 25, 2001, the very first Simpsons season box set was released. Since then, they have released several box sets. Here they are:"
"Released August 26, 2003. Contains 24 episodes of the season, which ran from 1991-1992, in a 4-disc box set. NOTES: 1. All following box sets will include four discs. 2. In the episode "Stark Raving Dad", the late Mchael Jackson guest stars."
"Released August 16, 2005. Contains 25 episodes from the season, which ran from 1994-1995. NOTES: 1. This box set has a different styling then the previous box sets. 2. This box set is also available in Homer head packaging. 3. The season finale "Who Shot Mr. Burns?(Part 1)", which is part one of a two part special, the only two part special in Simpsons history."

"Released October 7, 2008. This season contains 22 episodes, and ran from 1999-2000. NOTE: 1.This box set has a different styling than the previous box sets. 2.This box set is also available in Krusty the Clown head packaging."
