I was worried about the other reviews on here for the digital download, but the game downloaded fine for me. Took maybe an hour between buying it and being able to play it, because of course once I downloaded the expansion I couldn't install it right away, due to an update being required on the base game. So ~2 GB for the expansion, then another ~1 GB for the base game patch.

The game so far has been a lot of fun. It's actually made me grin some with neat little touches I've seen. I'm going all-out supernatural with my family, having a werewolf, a vampire, a witch, and a fairy. The fairy is perhaps the neatest so far. I saw a little fairy house (looks like a birdhouse) in a garden and thought "oh, okay, just a new static decoration." Nope, all of a sudden my full-size fairy Sim shrinks down to a little glowing orb, zips into the fairy house, and takes a nap. What?! When two fairies meet up, they will shrink down to little light orbs and "Fairy Frolic." They're basically adorable. I love that fairies seem inclined to play tricks on people, too, so they're kind of mischievous pixies.

I'm loving the style of the new objects, clothing, and hair, too. It's very Victorian, and some of the fairy outfits make me giggle. I'm reminded a bit of Makin' Magic's style of semi-gothic furniture. I'm super excited to see what else there is, since I haven't done anything with magic or alchemy yet, and I haven't gotten Bonehilda as a maid or anything. Zombies pop out of the ground during the full moon, and they're fairly entertaining. I have to make a zombie myself! I played all evening and can see this expansion keeping me occupied for a good while to come.

Glitched for about a week after download for 2 weeks where as soon as you get past the main loading screen and selected a family, it wouldn't load. It would get 98% of the way there and freeze. I've left it for hours and wouldn't load. It was very frustrating but ended up finding a way to repair it. The game itself is great. For awhile that is. I bought it in August or September, and after several months couldn't stand to be a supernatural anymore. Now I've been playing only human sims and plan on keeping it that way. The Supernatural Sims drive me batty now! The witches CONSTANTLY want to play with magic or conjure apples, which at one point led to my sim having over 260 apples in their inventory. The wolves (when full adults) turn all the time, at least once a day. You have to go and change them back to human so people don't freak out, and they won't eat like well, dogs. The fairies are fun but they spend too much time pranking other sims and being quirky and pesky. The vampires want to hunt and feed and get hungry very easily. The best thing about a vampire sim is when they're kids-- they can master skills in less than a day. Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

Being that I have used expansion packs in the past, I can say that they're usually hit or miss; either you get a lot of new content and it's totally worth it, or you get a few new outfits and maybe a new chair or two. This one is totally worth it! Much like the World Adventures expansion pack, Supernatural adds a lot of content to the game. You receive new skill options and a ton of new stuff, along with new careers and jobs. This is one of the better expansion packs! It actually enhances the game...which is what an expansion pack is supposed to do.
Ever wonder what your sims would look like as genies, or faeries? Want you sims to learn alchemy? Want some cool new gothic/horror movie style stuff to decorate your sim's house with? If not, then this is not the expansion pack for you.
I would even recommend this expansion pack to those who like The Sims, but aren't major fans of the franchise.
I myself have a mortal and a witch sim...being able to clean the house with the flick of a wand is pretty damn sweet! So far, witch is the only supernatural being I have played with. But even in game there are cheat codes to change your sim's supernatural abilities anytime you want. Not happy with your choice of warewolf over vampire? Enter the right code and you can experience every supernatural ability. The codes also work if your sims "try for baby" and have a mortal child...just enter the code and your child will have all the abilities of a ghost...without the messy death.
For the new content and what this expansion adds to the game I give it 4 stars. There is always room for improvement and with any EA game there are bugs.

The drawback is the same as Seasons... If your computer handles Sims 3 fine, better check the requirements again... They were significantly increased for this game. So if you have no issue on your computer with Sims 3 this expansion may change that.

I bought this game, and I absolutely love it! I think it could use more types of supernatural beings available. I really like the nails available for the accessories area. They are originally for the werewolves, but you can put them on humans, or any other creatures and you can also change/customize the color! <3 it!

The star rating is not for the game itself; the game is glorious, 5* for fun and content. Once I got to play it, by ordering a hard copy, that is.

I spent a WEEK trying to download the digital copy I ordered; I ordered the original game which was done in a few hours, and Showtime which took a few days because it kept hitting errors and having to be restarted; Supernatural, kept hitting errors, telling me the data was corrupted, having to start over... and I still never got to more than 80%.

If you're going to get the game, buy the disc. I just effectively paid full price for it ($20 for this joke download, $20 for the game disc while on sale), but the game is worth it.

Never buying digital copies again!!!

Like all Sims expansion games Supernatural offers new and fun ways to interact in the game. I haven't done all of them but the new items/characteristics I have used and experienced have been great. This is a fantastic addition to the Sims games.

I love this game, but I don't use it in everyday gameplay. It's great if you want to have a zombie attack or be supernatural!

As a fan of Makin' Magic, from the first Sims collection I was very excited about this addition to TS3. Very creative, lots of new animations, objects, CAS items and skills to choose from. I like the option to turn off or alter the lunar cycle and I you can also choose which supes you want in game or not. The zombies can get annoying so I tend to turn them off. I love making elixirs, there are many to learn and they have some fun outcomes. The spells are also alot of fun, toadification being a favorite. Beware of using Midas Touch too much, though! My sim was turned into a gold statue and died. The vamps are pretty much the same as they were in Late Night, only a few added animations. The fairies are a lot of fun to play, too. The new town is gloomy and the houses are nice. Overall a fun new hood to play. I will say, as I do for ALL Sims games. You must meet the specs required for the game. You must also do a clean install. Also, make sure you have the graphics settings low to begin, if you are unsure how your pc/laptop will handle it. If you need a step by step on clean installing or trouble shooting I find that modthesims has a great wiki for that. I am an avid Simmer (since 2000) and I definitely reccomend this EP! Lots of fun for many ages.

This is my favorite expansion pack for the Sims 3. I love the vampires, the fairies, and especially the zombies that come out of the ground. The ways to play this game are endless, always finding something new on here. So great!
