1.0 out of 5 stars Where's the stuff in this stuff pack? January 26, 2013
By S. Hall
Platform for Display:PC/Mac|Verified Purchase
This is my 1st review of a product. I'm a loyal fan of Sims (despite all the issues this game has). My husband bought this for me and now I feel guilty for having him waste $20.

What do you get with your $20?
- 4 new hairstyles for women
- 2 new hairstyles for men
- some new clothes for women (I'll give them this, there were probably 4-5 new tops and pants and maybe 6 new outfits)
- NO NEW SHOES OR ACCESSORIES
- 2 new tops and pants for men and maybe 4 outfits
- NO NEW DESIGNS (fabrics, abstract, themes, etc) in ANY category
- only ONE new piece of furniture in each grouping, actually not even that
- maybe 2 new paintings
- just 1 or 2 new light fixtures (hanging only, if memory serves)
- a new stereo
- 2 TVs
- nothing new in build mode that I could see

I know that with other "stuff" packs people have complained about the lack of content for the price you pay. However, THIS "stuff" pack is... well I don't even know why they bothered. With this being 70s, 80s, and 90s I could see a GREAT deal of potential, but EA really dropped the ball here. This "stuff" pack is pathetically anemic.

Buyer beware. You get next to nothing for you money here.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the $$ January 23, 2013
Platform for Display:PC/Mac|Verified Purchase
Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
This is the most underwhelming stuff pack to date. Lots of 80's Flashdance type outfits, hardly any new hair styles and almost no 90's grunge items - they really could have added customizeable flannel shirts and some of the cool riot grrrl outfits (Doc Martens?) but this is heavy on the 80's and little else.

This Sims 3 70's, 80's and 90's stuff pack has some fun new additions to the game, but falls a little short of being awesome. For those that love the 1970's disco look and the 1980's neon leotards, you will like this pack. I will say though that there is definitely more content for your female Sims than the male ones.

1970's:
Your Sims now have the option to wear bell-bottom pants, jeans with different colored patches and a few additional outfits like jump suits and such right out of Saturday Night Fever. There is a disco ball included that I think could have been a little better done. This one doesn't turn, and instead of being silver and glittery, it's got rainbow stars on it. There is another type of ball as well called a "Lightsplosion", that doesn't mount to the wall, but it does change colors and offer some movement. The dance floor lights up, however there seems to be no way to turn it off. Once it's placed, it's on all the time. Your Sims will need music in the room turned on in order to dance on the floor. While the dance floor is nice, it would have been neat if your Sims could do different dances on the floor, instead of the ones they already always do now. A medium-long hair style has also been added to the create a Sim for male Sims.

They have included an old small TV, even decked out with the rabbit ears antenna in the back. A few pieces of furniture have been added as well, but I think they could have done more with the 70's furniture. I was certain they would include the oh-so-overused brown/orange with yellow flowers on it pattern on something, but they didn't. There was just a moderate amount of stuff included in this pack related to the 1970's.

1980's:
This era is where this stuff pack was been mostly focused.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing January 27, 2013
By JW

How can they not have an afro hairstyle??? That's like a stable of the 70s! What about the Farah hair??? Very disappointing in the hairstyle department. Some of the outfits are okay the rest are trash. For the females anyway. Once again EA neglects the male wardrobe. I don't care for most of the furniture either but I love the dance floor and disco lights. Would've been better off with a stuff pack for each decade. Feels like they just threw together everything into a caldron and turned out a horrible spell! Definitely one of the worst stuff packs.

2.0 out of 5 stars 90's? Are you sure? February 25, 2013
Platform for Display:PC/Mac
Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
As a HUGE Sims fan someone who's been playing the game since the actual 90's, I was very excited to get my hands on this pack. But after loading it, I feel cheated. It was a waste of money. I have bought some really amazing Stuff packs before, but this isn't one of them. If you loved the 70's, go crazy, but the 80's aren't the best, and the 90's are basically non-existent. Save your money. Seriously.

There isn't much in here that's worth anything. I do like the disco ball, the color-blocked dance floor and wall lighting. Other than that, don't waste your money.

i was really excited when i first heard about this game. i was really looking forward to play it. i bought it the other day and installed it and everything. i was quickly disappointed when i seen that there was hardly anything new added. only a few outfits, a couple of hairstyles, and a couple pieces of furiniture. they could have done A LOT more with this game then they did.
