I really like this expansion pack. For one thing, while your sims are on "vacation" you can bring their skill-building books, etc. and then they have virtually unlimited time to max up abilities. When you leave regular Simland, you return at exactly the same time of day and day you left, as if you never left at all, even if you were gone weeks. Another neat thing is that there are an enormous amount of adventures. It is hard to complete even one or two in one trip. I've taken one trip to France, two to Egypt and one to China and only got Visa level 1 out of 10 levels.. and that's just for one sim. I imagine it would take many generations of sims to experience all the adventures. You also get cool unique items from your travels and two new hobbies: nectar (wine) making and martial-arts. I feel this is an excellent addition to Sims 3, esp for when you've played a long time (as I have) and gotten kind of bored. It spices things up!

I almost didn't buy the download due to the negative review. I had no problem downloading the game and integrating it with my exisisting Sims 3 installation from a CD, with no harm to my existing saved games. As soon as the install completed, the EA updated found a patch and I installed that too. The nice thing about buying this as a download is now I don't need to have my Sim3 disk in when I play. World Adventures is easy to jump right into because it doesn't require very much money for the first trip. So even if you are started with a brand new household, you can send your Sim on a trip as your first action. I haven't played to much but there appears to be a lot of content. So far I've only looked around China and it is beautiful and there don't appear to be any rabbit holes (buildings that they disappear into and you can't control them). Your Sims still needs to have its needs met while on vacation, but when you return, it is fully recharged (even if you have neglected all of its needs) and no time has passed. The only downside is that if you want to take more then one Sim through the same adventures (exploring the tombs and collecting treasures) it will be the same the second time around. However, there are tons of new Sims to interact with so that will still provide lots of variety. For Sim fans it is worth the current $20.07 price.

I downloaded this game about a week ago. Honestly I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy this expansion pack...but out of curiosity I downloaded it, just to see what worlds were available. I am a big Francophone, so when I saw that it had a France themed world I was happy!
I like the fact that my Sim can go out on quests and that this expansion pack adds more to the game than just a few extra items. I'd say that the pro's to this expansion pack are the quests and the new skills, as well as the fact that there are several quests in each world so those will keep any fan of the franchise busy for a while.
The major con for me would be that this game does take a while to boot up and traveling to/from the different worlds/home do take a few minutes (at least that's my experience). But overall the pro's outweigh the cons.
I wish all the expansion packs were like this one, giving the gamer a more comprehensive experience.
I've done 3 quests in the Asian inspired world, 3 in the Egypt inspired world and 1 in the France inspired world. If you're not that interested in The Sims franchise and are just looking for a quick/easy item expansion pack this one is not for you. But if you're like me and are a fan of the franchise and don't mind spending a weekend glued to the computer, playing other Sims games...then this game is for you!
Not only will it take a while to complete the quests, you'll also want to try the new skills as well.

I really like expansion pack! I've played Sims 2: Bon Voyage, and I thought it was boring. You didn't do much at you're vacation spots, but this game has fixed that! You can travel to Egypt, France, and China. Each vacation spot has its own special feature.

China- SimFu, Tombs
France- Nectar Making, Tombs
Egypt- More difficult tombs

Each one is unique and looks like it respected country. They all were fun. This also came with tomb building, where you can create your own tombs and put them on the exchange, MTS or anywhere else. To stay at these places longer, you need to increase your visa level to stay longer, because you can only stay for three days at the beginning. I found that annoying to have to increase it.
Pros
SimFu
Traveling
Tombs
Tomb building

Cons
Visa Levels

I think it is worth a buy, definitely.

I've been playing Sims since the original came out, and I enjoy how the really keep getting better as they go. This expansion pack brought out a lot of fun new things in the three new worlds that have been introduced. I like that they have new plants and recipes as well as the new skills, talents, and adventures to explore. Each new world has something unique and fun about it. Going on the quests is fun, especially when they have you go to a new world to complete it. I bought this one 2 years ago, and I'm still loving having it.

Lots of problems with this expansion, but game that are added, make it worth it. Always something to make us want it.

I think it's super cool that sims can travel to other destinations but it's annoying that you have to travel away from home to accomplish certain things like the martial arts skill & to get the doll to practice & all that. Same for the nectar skill, I mean what's the sense of having a computer if you can't order these things online after you've visited the country for example. I still enjoy the fact of being to travel despite certain minor inconveniences like the one before mentioned.

World Adventures will spice up your Sim-life! I love the opportunities and quests that you get to do. I also like the fact that I have new recipes like Crepes, and Frog Legs. France, China, and Egypt are beautiful! Some of the quests really require you to think and try different ways to complete them. So it's more than just point and click and that's what makes this one so different and cool. Try it!

I had been addicted to the game for a while. Instead of just going for a visit and chilling, they have you do quests in order to gain Visa Point that allow you to stay in a place longer per a visit. Some quests are really hard and dangerous. I just love it!

I bought it despite reading all the bad reviews. I like all the extra traits, clothes, and wishes but traveling is a pain. Just lost my family to some weird glitch. There's a red box on the friend panel with no name that I can not remove. I suspect it's the Sim I sent to France because he does not show up on his parent's friend panel. It takes forever to load into these new zones. I just cleaned out my bad CC's (Thank you Delphy's Dashboard) and I can not imagine how long it would take for people who do not use that tool to load those zones. If you are a trait & skill snob like me, you might like the extra ones that come from this one ep. But other then that. It's way too glitchy to travel anywhere. Not worth the 30 dollars IMO.
