5.0 out of 5 stars Back to the Future meets the Sims October 22, 2013
Platform for Display:PC Download
Please note that this is an expansion pack for the Sims 3. You will need to have the Sims 3 game already installed on your computer in order to run this expansion pack.

The Sims 3: Into the Future reminds me of the 1980's film back to the future. Where Marty Mcfly is going about his everyday life, and one day the Doc shows up with a Delorean sporting a flux capacitor, telling him about how he can travel through time. You start out by selecting any one of your Sims families in any of the cities/towns in your game, and resuming where you left off (or you can create a new family). Once your game starts, a portal comes out of nowhere and a Sim NPC emerges from it, and tells you he's from the future and he's trying to get back. If you help him repair his portal, you can use it to travel through time as well.

After completing a small mission, the portal is now open for you to enter and travel to Oasis Landing. You can go by yourself or have other sims come along with you. This works similarly to the World Adventures locations, where you start from home and travel to your destination.

Using a new item in your inventory called the Almanac of Time, you can choose from one of three futures to visit. One by default is unlocked and you can come and go from there as you please. This location is called the Normal Future. The two other futuristic outcomes you can visit are the Dystopian Future, a desolate and dangerous place to travel to, or the Utopia Future, and lush and lavish version of the future. To visit these futures, you need to complete objectives in your home city that will cause a change of events in your own time, thus changing what the outcome is in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars not rocket science November 21, 2013
Platform for Display:PC Download|Verified Purchase
the game worked great if you download it correctly some people gave 1 star cuz they did it wrong. Which doesn't help people decide whether or not to buy. If you use Origin to run the game, after purchasing the game download the file but DONT INSTALL hit the view product code button, then copy the key code, now open your Origin. Once open in the top left corner click the origin drop down menu and select enter product code and once submitted just go into my games and download. Don't let the people that couldn't figure it out sway you its a great expansion.

4.0 out of 5 stars No Problems October 22, 2013
By vanessa
Platform for Display:PC Download|Verified Purchase
Downloaded and installed with no problems and it runs great. In fact it runs better than it has in a long time! It seems to load faster and is less glitchy than it was after the Island Paradise expansion. The only reason it's 4 stars instead of 5 is because I'm missing my limited edition, pre-order content code. But I'm chatting with EA now to get it fixed ;-)

4.0 out of 5 stars Be Careful Activating Codes from Third-Party sites. December 1, 2013
Platform for Display:PC Download|Verified Purchase
When you try to activate this code on Origin it will tell you to remove and re-install the base game. DON'T DO IT! You will lose all your bought custom content and it will be a major bear to get it all back...if you ever do. Instead hit the I button on this expansion in your My Games tab and install it from there. Read the Sim 3 technical forum for the stickied thread on this.

Other than that, no problems getting the code accepted and the expansion installed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprising Fun Visit, Not Destination December 19, 2013
By Brenton
Platform for Display:PC Download|Verified Purchase
I am more of a realist Sim player than a fantasy one, so I wasn't looking forward to this EP. However, I was Very surprised at how much I enjoyed it. It adds a lot of fun for a good period of time. Unfortunately for me, it is just for a short time. If you enjoy sci-fy or fantasy, then HANDS DOWN get this. You will LOVE IT. But if you are more like me, and the money isn't a big issue, then I would still give it a shot. It could surprise you too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Downloaded through origin January 20, 2014
Platform for Display:PC Download|Verified Purchase
my daughter is a major sims fan and a computer enthusiast but the download was tricky and confusing, even for her. she says the game is good, but what the description does not mention is that the download is made directly through origin, and origin has to be downloaded onto the computer and an origin account made before the game is downloaded. she says it was annoying to download, but worth it. (in other words, do not download/ buy THIS VERSION unless you are completely confident in your computer abilities.)

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun but could have been better February 23, 2014
Platform for Display:PC Download|Verified Purchase
I purchased this expansion pack because my son was in a big Back to the Future kick. It was interesting to visit the future and to see how your current actions affected your future generations, but it gets old after awhile. I would say if you love futuristic stuff, this is a great pack, but the novelty wears thin quickly if that isn't something you enjoy. I wish it had the ability to go to other time periods like the past, but to be fair it does say into the future.

3.0 out of 5 stars It ain't my favorite Sims game April 4, 2014
Platform for Display:PC Download|Verified Purchase
It's alright. The quests are pretty fun and I like that you can shape the future and check it out and whatnot, but as far as Sim games go this isn't their best.

Nice game, comes with cool stuff. However, I don't wear the outfits or hairstyles for regular gameplay, and don't go to the future often.

5.0 out of 5 stars ... time machine you get in Ambitions is a little like a TARDIS
I figured out that the time machine you get in Ambitions is a little like a TARDIS, and started a Doctor character a long time ago. Now he fits into my game even better.
