Proven methods for building an online income stream

You don't have to quit your current job, or already have piles of money, or be 24 years old, or riding a booming economy, in order to start a successful online business.

The Six-Figure Second Income explains how to start or grow a business even when you think you have plenty of strikes against you.

In the course of building an eight-figure real estate information marketing business, David Lindahl and Jonathan Rozek tested dozens of tools and techniques. This book is centered around principles they derived from all the tests they ran, tools they used, and money they spent.

If you're tired of the gimmicks and skepticism that anyone can really succeed online, this book will give you the no-hype, no-nonsense advice you need.

Amazon Exclusive: Business Tips from Authors David Lindhal and Jonathan Rozek

Think back to some great advice you received about something in your life. Let's just say for a moment that you had multiple job offers and “Bob” was urging you to go accept his. Now let's think how Bob might deliver that advice. If he were a typical internet marketer, this is how Bob would sound:

“I’ve got a closely-guarded secret that other big employers don’t want you to know about!!!!!”

“Oh, what’s that?”

“Well you just gotta accept our Chicago offer!!!!!! Why, the moment you say ‘Yes’ to our offer, you’re life’s gonna change! Trust me! I mean, it’s an absolute dream job! We’ll pay you so much money that you’ll tell us to stop. Plus, about the work—there won’t be any. Just show up and we’ll pay you….But you gotta decide right now because this offer won’t last long!!!!”

If Bob talked like that to you, we’re pretty sure that you’d slowly back away from old Bob and find an excuse to leave.

Why is it, then that so many internet marketers talk like Bob? They breathlessly talk about how they’re finally going to reveal the true secret to making mountains of cash from the Internet…how it’s “push-button easy” to set up sites in minutes that will crush your competitors and make you a bloody fortune with no work, no money, and no risk.

If you’re the kind of person who gets all excited by the Internet Bobs, and you’re looking for a true Silver Bullet to be revealed at last—don’t bother buying this book. Take your money and buy a fantasy movie through Amazon’s DVD department. They have lots of ‘em.

Our book, Six Figure Second Income, is much more like the solid advice you would get from a trusted friend. We’ll tell you the truth as we know it, and that means the good, the bad, and the downright ugly. We’ll tell you that success takes a certain amount of work, but that there are some handy shortcuts you can take to minimize that work and expense. We’ll tell you:

• How to follow a simple, straightforward path to finding your first product to sell online

• How to get a perfectly good website for just a few bucks or even for free—with no gimmicks, no spammy stuff, and no ads on your site •

• Exactly where to look for people who will buy your product

• How to create a relationship with your customers so they pay you again and again

This book is about clearing away the barriers that may have prevented you from making money online. It’s also about showing you the tested and proven tools you can use to start that income stream while you still have a day job.

No gimmicks and no fakery to seduce you. Just straight talk about what works. If that sounds like a breath of fresh air, then we invite you to get 232 pages of it in our book.

I was in the middle of putting together my own information product when this book caught my eye, and I am very glad that I took time to read it.

I found this to be annoying because it happened pretty much on every other page of the book.

I enjoyed reading this book. I purchased it from Amazon because Jim Cockrum endorsed it in his newsletter (which is how I heard of it). The book basically outlines step by step how to set up an information product business online. The first chapter explains why this business model is ideal for most people, due to low overhead and the almost bottomless demand for information products online. Chapter 2 suggests ways to build a profitable infoproduct quickly. I think they should have explained the "profitable" side of things a bit more explicitly. For example, while many people might have collections of recipes at home they think they could sell online, most people searching for recipes online are searching for FREE information, not an ebook they have to pay for. Ideally, you should create an infoproduct for a market where infoproducts are already selling well. Scanning the categories of products on Clickbank.com is a good way to get ideas for products of your own. If you aren't sure what to create, think about the products that people are already selling on Clickbank, and then come up with a complementary or supplemental product that would be a logical "upsell" to the audience for those products. This is the most important decision you will make, and determines if your product will sell, more than any other factor. Beyond that the book outlines the different content formats you can choose to make, how to set up a website, get traffic and turn your "prospects into buyers." I learned the most from chapter 6, and I think that chapter alone is worth the price of this book. While it doesn't explicitly teach you how to write a sales letter it tells you some important things to consider when setting up your sales page.Read more ›

This book is very honest and straightforward and has some useful tips and links, but it is filled with fluff. Many pages are simply a few sentences long and it looks like the authors were just trying to get to a certain page length (which I am sure they weren't, but the layout of the book certainly gives that impression). The book starts out with a bang but then peters out rather quickly. It basically says "Start an Info-Product" but then the rest of the book is just the same old "Adsense, Adwords, How to build a basic website, Keyword Research" stuff that you can find online for free at a million different sites. The real value add of this book is the list of questions you can ask yourself if you want to create an info product, but that is available on their website for free (just use the search box on the website). So I really don't see the sense in purchasing this.

I was really hoping for some more meat and potatoes stuff on what I could actually produce as an info product, but this book fell slightly short of its promise. It used a lot of powerful language and amazing catch lines that get you really pumped, but I felt like it ultimately under-delivered. Not questioning the sincerity of the authors here, just the overall quality of their product.

This book is one of the best practical guides on how to start your own freelance business that I have ever read. It is full of simple, easily understood, and easy-to-follow advice on how to get started with no cost and minimal effort. A lot of books about freelancing tell you how to market yourself before you are really ready to be marketed because you don't know what you are doing to start with. In fact, at first, most people don't even know how to get started. This book is different- in no-nonsense language and step-by-step directions, it takes the fear out of getting started on your own and directs you step-by-step on how to just jump in and do in, the no-frills way. The author has provided numerous links throughout the book to his website, where his links take you exactly to where he directs you in the book. I loved this book and I feel it was money well-spent.

This book does a great job of walking through the process of creating an online business. It focuses on information products because that is the fastest way to market starting from zero.

Jon deals with many of the excuses, hype, and barriers right up front. While some of the techniques and information is common with other books on this subject, I found this one puts everything together in a concise and clear manner. The information on the website analysis tools alone was worth the price.

An unexpected and pleasant surprise was I had a question about something in the book and sent an email to the address in the book and actually got a personal response back from the author in 24 hours. - A very nice touch.

This book is a basic amalgamation of tips and hints that will help you start selling your own info product online (there are other suggestions for making money online, but the main focus of this book is on info products). Will it guarantee you a six-figure second income? Certainly not without your own hard work. Will it make your path to a six-figure income easier? More or less yes, but you still have to put in effort and time and probably read this book more than once and then do outside research on your own.

If you search online, you can probably find all the stuff in this book for free. The advantage of this book is that it concisely summarizes most of the important things in one place. Unfortunately, the tips and hints are concise to the point that they are too general. Instead of going into more detail, the author would often discuss something and then refer you to search his own website for more information on the topic.

I found this to be annoying because it happened pretty much on every other page of the book. It also felt like the author was trying to boost traffic to his site by mentioning it so many times. For example, why would I go to his website to search for "google website optimizer" when I can just google google website optimizer and learn way more about it that way? To be fair, the author mentions that technology gets dated pretty quickly, so he refers you to his site for the most up-to-date information. This still doesn't completely dissolve the feeling that the author is trying to get more visitors to his site and the feeling that he's kind of taking the lazy way out by teasing you with some information but not following through with the delivery.
