About the Author

Bonnie Bachman was born into an impoverished Nebraska farm family shortly after World War II and raised in austere circumstances. When small she wore clothes her mother made out of flour bags! But as she grew she would be faced with ever-increasingly dire situationstrials by firefraught with fear, frustration, disappointments, and deprivations! Now, many decades later, Ms. Bachman can reflect on those long ago adversities and praise God for them! She respects the indomitable woman of fortitude she has been forged into, observing that in order to become like gold one must likewise be refined in the smelting furnace

God Is Along is the 4th book in the Skissley Diaries and it's my favorite. With a more mature perspective and understanding of the world around her, I could really relate to both Skissley's life at home and High School experiences. There is more of a focus on her relationships at school and closeness to God, while her family life grows more divided and lonely. Thoughts that so many of us have but are never able to express. The style of writing is so engrossing you'll feel as if you are right there in the room with her, bracing for "what happens next". Can't wait for the next one, highly recommended!
