A Must Have for all Fans of PP&M,

This review is from: The Solo Recordings [1971-1972] (MP3 Download)
These solo recordings have been desired by PP&M fans for so many years now. The three albums have never been released by Warner Bros. until the 3-CD set was remastered and released in November, 2008. It was sold only through Barnes and Noble stores or at their web site. Now, however, it's an "Out of Stock" item.
So, now the only place that you can get this set is from iTunes or Amazon on MP3 download. It's a real bargain for $16.99, compared to the orginal $29.99 on CD. The albums are really teriffic. The sound is better than when I bought them on 8-track 37 years ago. I, especially, have always loved the "Mary" album, which I bought in 1971 and all but wore out. With her recent death, her first solo album pays tribute to her tender, strong and beautiful voice and her timelesss musical legacy. May her spirit fly on the wings of love.

An essential addition to PPM library,

In the early '70's, PP&M briefly split up, resulting in these 3 solo albums. "Paul&" was probably the most successful, but all 3 are excellent showcases for the singers' individual talents.

This review is from: Solo Recordings: 1971-1972 (Audio CD)
I was so happy to see this CD available. I've owned the records (yes, vinyl) since 1973 and have wanted a CD copy. Mary and Pauls albums got a lot of airplay in the 1970's, not so much for Peters. Pauls album has "Wedding Song" which was subsequently played at a LOT of weddings in the 70's and 80's. Marys album has a lot of early John Denver written songs. I was so sad that we lost Mary this year to cancer. This CD is "must have" for any PP&M fan.
