In a decade with very little original or inspired music, Michael Franti & Spearhead shine through. While definitely having his own style, Franti still reminds me a great deal of a less mellow Ben Harper. The group has been around for awhile but they seem to have suddenly taken off and it's good to be here to listen to it happen. This song is one of their more popular (and slightly overplayed at the moment, thanks corporate radio) songs with a solid, upbeat (we need upbeat these days, don't we?) sound and good lyrics that echo the same vibe. Much of Franti's work is about social/political commentary, done well I might add, but he's branching out more and more into feel-good stuff like this. I love both sides. Get this if you're looking for something beyond the usual canned crap overwhelming the airways these days. Get his other stuff too, you won't be disappointed.

Very Upbeat material, which we can all use these days. Who can not love the Jamaican accents involved? The first few songs, with the sweet/fresh words, prepared me for a new day!

I became acquainted with this song via Blue Crush 2, and love it so much I came here to download it. I so wish they would release the whole BC2 soundtrack, as it was phenomenal. (While the movie was merely ok, the music pushed it into the "good" category.)

Anyway, back to the song...I'm not a Franti fan. He's a little hippy for me, but I do enjoy this song, and it's not full of foul language etc that so many songs are plagued with this days. What can I say, I'm an old young person.

Heard this song playing in the background while I was shopping at Kohl's. Was instantly mesmerized. What a happy song! It made me think of lying on a beach in the Caribbean. It turns out that Michael Franti had a near death experience, and after he recovered he was so grateful that he wrote these wonderful, happy tunes. Found out that I can get Sound of Sunshine as a ringtone for my phone, so now I can hear it whenever someone calls me. What fun!

Just came from a Michael Franti concert (opened for Train) in Virginia Beach, I was so impressed I had to have a few songs for my collection. His songs are fun and the messages are positive. We need more songs like this in our world today. If you want to have some good fun at a concert go see Michael Franti. He fresh, energetic, and a lot of fun.

My husband and I downloaded this to add to our CD favor of songs we had requested of the DJ for our wedding. We chose songs that either had a beachy/tropical feel, or had a lot of meaning to us. Definitely fits into both categories!

Not much more to say. I find myself playing it over and over when jogging in the mornings and really enjoy it. It's a very simple happy tune.

sound quality too compressed... no dynamic range. Therefore, no more downloads. ;-) thought the quality would be better than iTunes
