When Juliana Moss's feelings for her boss are not returned, she accepts a gift of a spa vacation in Winter Beach, California--and vows to avoid wealthy, shallow men forever.

As a motivational speaker, Tom Sperry has spent more time in hotels over the past few years than at home. So when he arrives in Winter Beach for a week-long speaking engagement, loneliness sets in--until an unusual encounter with the beautiful Juliana awakens thoughts of romance.

When Juliana discovers Tom is not who she thought, will she bolt? Or will a week at The Spa at Winter Beach offer the healing they both yearn to find?

4.0 out of 5 stars Short, But Sweet Beach Read December 11, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I always enjoy Julie Carobini's novels, and I enjoyed this novella, too. The main character, Juliana, is recovering from the embarrassment of having revealed too much of her romantic hopes to her disinterested boss. Having sworn off all well-to-do, handsome men like him, she takes her meddling mother up on her gift of a vacation at the spa at Winter Beach. Inevitably, she runs into just the kind of shallow businessman she is trying to avoid. But this handsome guy has more depth to him than his exterior reveals. If only Juliana can get past her last humiliation, she might find real love. A nice, romantic beach read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovin' It! December 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
You're not going to want to miss this sweet read from Julie Carobini. Takes you right to where we all want to be this winter season -- at the beach! This is a novella, not a full-length novel, but there's plenty of time to get to know the characters and enjoy the story, and the price just can't be beat. If you enjoy Julie's beachy style, you won't be disappointed. The Spa at Winter Beach needs to move to the top of your to-be-read pile.

2.0 out of 5 stars Cute short romance, but unoriginal October 26, 2013
By heather
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a cute short romance, but leaves much to be desired. The heroine, Juliana, escapes to a week at a spa to recover from her broken heart. Her mother is kind enough to provide the trip for her. The spa sounds incredibly relaxing, although Juliana would rather sit alone in her room than go to all the pre-paid exquisite treatments. Juliana has been pining after her billionaire boss and when asked to help stage his home for sale, completed the project with all the trimmings including a pink nursery. Instead of whisking her away to happily ever after, he moved in with his secretary/girlfriend instead who wasn't all the pleased with Juliana's nursery and home decorating plans. That aside, at the spa she finds a very elegant and charming man, Tom, who she distances herself from because he is also rich which means he must cold hearted. She is emotional, rude, and stubborn, yet Tom chases after her despite that. I don't see what he sees in her at all. It's a cute story, but predictable with characters I could not relate to.

This is a sweet Summertime novel. Julie Carobini is a great writer! I didn't have to suffer through endless drama and ridiculous random sex scenes. Gawd, that gets old. Julie writes with our intelligence in mind! Great stuff, great novel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Short & Sweet December 27, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Good clean read which I love. The book did not have a lot of depth due to the length; however it held my interest & the plot flowed very well. Just long enough for a quiet evening of sweet entertainment. Would definitely read more books by this author.

I wasn't sure that I would enjoy this book because I typically find novellas to be too short, but this one packed a powerful message delivered by lovable characters. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

4.0 out of 5 stars (A Seaside Novella) The Spa At Winter Beach October 26, 2013
By ecpd188
Format:Kindle Edition
I really enjoyed this book of how Julieanna was away on a vacation to get over her embarrassment o decorating her boss' house to her lacking. Her mother was so desperate for her to find a man she sent her to a fancy spa all expenses paid. Julianne had no intention of meeting a man. It all just happened accident and she still was not interested especially after she found out who he was. Good book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice short read October 12, 2013

I would never have made the errors in judgement that Juliana makes to get into her situation, but it does make for interesting reading. It is very light on the inspirational part, but it is definitely a clean romance.

Its a quick easy read, story line is predictable, you can see where its headed. Sparks your faith in coincidence and romance for a moment, its a reading gap filler.
