4.0 out of 5 stars Short, But Sweet Beach Read December 11, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I always enjoy Julie Carobini's novels, and I enjoyed this novella, too. The main character, Juliana, is recovering from the embarrassment of having revealed too much of her romantic hopes to her disinterested boss. Having sworn off all well-to-do, handsome men like him, she takes her meddling mother up on her gift of a vacation at the spa at Winter Beach. Inevitably, she runs into just the kind of shallow businessman she is trying to avoid. But this handsome guy has more depth to him than his exterior reveals. If only Juliana can get past her last humiliation, she might find real love. A nice, romantic beach read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovin' It! December 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
You're not going to want to miss this sweet read from Julie Carobini. Takes you right to where we all want to be this winter season -- at the beach! This is a novella, not a full-length novel, but there's plenty of time to get to know the characters and enjoy the story, and the price just can't be beat. If you enjoy Julie's beachy style, you won't be disappointed. The Spa at Winter Beach needs to move to the top of your to-be-read pile.

2.0 out of 5 stars Cute short romance, but unoriginal October 26, 2013
By heather
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a cute short romance, but leaves much to be desired. The heroine, Juliana, escapes to a week at a spa to recover from her broken heart. Her mother is kind enough to provide the trip for her. The spa sounds incredibly relaxing, although Juliana would rather sit alone in her room than go to all the pre-paid exquisite treatments. Juliana has been pining after her billionaire boss and when asked to help stage his home for sale, completed the project with all the trimmings including a pink nursery. Instead of whisking her away to happily ever after, he moved in with his secretary/girlfriend instead who wasn't all the pleased with Juliana's nursery and home decorating plans. That aside, at the spa she finds a very elegant and charming man, Tom, who she distances herself from because he is also rich which means he must cold hearted. She is emotional, rude, and stubborn, yet Tom chases after her despite that. I don't see what he sees in her at all. It's a cute story, but predictable with characters I could not relate to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book April 24, 2013

This is a sweet Summertime novel. Julie Carobini is a great writer! I didn't have to suffer through endless drama and ridiculous random sex scenes. Gawd, that gets old. Julie writes with our intelligence in mind! Great stuff, great novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Spa at Winter Beach January 30, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The Spa at Winter Beach by Julie Carobini was such a wonderful read. Juliana was given a gift to spend a week at a spa while recovering from total embarrassment involving her boss. It gets really good. She meets a new man under interesting circumstances and from there her life takes on a whole new course. Julie never fails to capture the reader. Even though this is a novella you would not know it. You get to know the characters so well that you feel you are right there with them. A must read!

Enjoyed this novella a lot. The writer conveys the female main character's emotions in amusing and believable detail. A great pick-me-up read after a long day, I appreciated the conflict between the two romantic leads. I'll read more of Julie Carobini's books!

4.0 out of 5 stars Short & Sweet December 27, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Good clean read which I love. The book did not have a lot of depth due to the length; however it held my interest & the plot flowed very well. Just long enough for a quiet evening of sweet entertainment. Would definitely read more books by this author.

I wasn't sure that I would enjoy this book because I typically find novellas to be too short, but this one packed a powerful message delivered by lovable characters. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

Its a quick easy read, story line is predictable, you can see where its headed. Sparks your faith in coincidence and romance for a moment, its a reading gap filler.
