5.0 out of 5 stars EARLY KNEECAPPINGS October 10, 2012
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
I read several 4 star reviews of this album and listened to some
of it online, found it to be both inventive and classic pop at the
same time. The first song sounds like a collaboration of David Byrne
and a 60's girl group. Other songs show more of a Beatles influence but
do not sound derivative. My favorite song on the album is Early Kneecappings
but I also enjoy the song The 03 and Dessau Rag is an interesting slice of Jazz
that shows he is definitely not a one trick pony.
If you like intelligent, inventive and tuneful "pop" J. Milne (AKA Lawrence
Arabia) may be your guy. Load up your bong and put on your headphones,
this is not background music for a frat party.
