Since my mother passed almost 10 years ago, I have been somewhat skeptical, but very curious about life after death and the possibility of connecting with her. I have read many helpful books over the years but this book really captivated me and left me wanting to read more. It's full of compelling, heartfelt, and honest stories of people John has helped as well as detailed and fascinating accounts of his personal experiences and development as a medium. At times I found myself nodding along in agreement, while other times I was tearful or simply mesmerized. This book really affirmed for me that the "other side" exists and that we are not just connected to our loved ones in the physical world, but more importantly in the unseen world, through our thoughts, dreams or unexplained feelings and experiences. Thank you John!

This was my first John Holland book and I was pleasantly surprised. The book not only contains many interesting readings that John has given but also includes chapters on the Spiritualist Church, psychic art, reincarnation and animals and the afterlife. Subjects I haven't read much about in the large collection of spiritual books I already own.

Format: Paperback
A 2010 book by John Holland, a respected medium and Hay House author, this book is subtitled "Chronicles of a Medium" and so it is. This 233 page book covers many of John's past experiences with those from "the other side". If you are someone who WANTS to BELIEVE, or already does believe, I think you will find this book very enjoyable and rewarding. If you dabble in the psychic arts, I think you will also find this book informative, encouraging, and one which provides confirmation for some of the experiences you may have already had.

In the book, he mentions how he was "different" growing up, how he later traveled from Los Angeles to England to study at the famous Arthur Findlay College of spiritualism, psychic sciences, and mediumship, and referring to this place as his "Spirit Boot Camp". During the 2 years he studied in England (in the 1990s), John experienced many paranormal wonders, such as Transfiguration Mediumship and Psychic Art, as he learned how to develop and control his own psychic skills. John tells you about his extraordinary experiences, including the pictures he received from psychic artist Coral Polge of a relative he had never seen before. The book is said to chronicle the last 7 years of John's life (meaning, I assume, the last 7 years of readings--because it also goes back to his 1990s studies).

(Transfiguration Mediumship is a very rare form of mediumship where a veil of ectoplasm forms in front of the medium's face, then the ectoplasm molds itself into the features of the spirit who is coming through. The spirit's features appear on the face of the medium.)

(Psychic Art is where the medium is able to see and draw the spirit who is coming through.

Good book - though, almost a copy of his first book (Born Knowing) with the addition of valuble insight and types of Mediumship. Did like the contact/reference material included in the back of the book / Much needed by all serious students.

I love John Holland and had the pleasure of seeing him last year. He is able to touch so many people with his messages.

In The Spirit Whisperer, John picks up where Born Knowing left off. John teaches us how to recognize the "signs and symbols" that our loved ones give us to tell us that there are still around.

He discusses readings with clients, Spiritualism and it's history. John also lets us look into his Past Life Regression session. There is a chapter of Psychic Kids and my favorite animal communication.

This is one of those books to keep on your nightstand and refer back to often. You will find something different every time.

Do our friends and loved ones remain with us after they die? Can spirits help us from the other side? Are there different levels within the spirit world? After you die, does it matter which religion you practiced while living? Psychic medium John Holland answers these questions and more in The Spirit Whisperer: Chronicles of a Medium. Sharing stories from throughout his two decades as a practicing medium, Holland introduces his readers to many of the spirits he has encountered over the years. From parents and friends to children and even pets, he attempts to prove to believers and skeptics alike that yes, our most beloved kindred spirits (and even those with whom we may have had issues or disliked immensely) can and do remain with us after their deaths, working to help us as we continue through life.

John Holland takes his readers back through his studies of spiritualism in England, nearly two decades ago, as he participated in séances and spirit circles. He explains that everyone is psychic, to some degree, but not everyone is a medium. Mediumship is a unique gift that allows someone to interact directly with the spirit world, delivering messages from friends and loved ones who have passed on. Typically, those messages are reassurance that our departed ones are still with us and doing what they can to influence and protect us. In one spectacular story, which readers may struggle with, Holland described his attendance at a demonstration of transfiguration. Transfiguration occurs when a spirit's face actually materializes over that of the medium through the use of ectoplasm that seeps from the medium's body.
