I needed this book for my beginning composition class. Though this book is called the short ninth edition, it is exactly the same as the ninth edition, only it is a paperback.

Foolish purchase. Since the current edition in use is the tenth edition, and this is the ninth, it was a complete waste of money. When I started class I had to purchase the correct edition from school bookshop. I understand that, as buyer, I should always beware but no indication from Amazon page that book no longer used in California college curriculum. There does not seem to be a system to get to this part without clicking at least one star. I rate it a minus. As Amazon are the ultimate purveyors of the book (Oh! I am sure there are disclaimers in place but the perception that one buys FROM Amazon is reinforced frequently) I felt not only cheated but rather foolish.

I am thoroughly disappointed! After ordering and paying for my much needed book, halfway through my semester I received an email stating the book is not coming and my refund is in the mail. That didn't help with the English class I was enrolled in! I will not use this service again! I wouldn't give it one star if I could! It deserves no stars!
