I love this thing. Use it at least twice a day. As a competitive cyclist, my quads and IT bands get incredibly tight, so the Stick definitely comes in handy.

I bought this when I started running, and has allowed me to advance with less pain and suffering. I went "from couch to 5k-every other day" in less than 3 months! I use it before a run to warm up the muscles, and after a run, to relax them; and in the evening, before going to bed, i might use it again, if I am particularly tired. My 17 year son old started using it during tennis camp and now we are starting to "fight" over it. My wife has restless legs syndrome and has discovered, finally, that I was right. Finally, I have recommended it to several with fibromyalgia, and all I have heard is how much better they feel.

We were concerned about the smell that some of the reviewers had reported. We were very pleasantly surprised when we saw that the product that we got had no such issues. It seems like the bad odor problem has been taken care of :-)
The stick works great for our daughter who is very active in basketball/track/soccer. She takes it with her when she has tournaments so that she can use it after she is done with her activities for the day, to just help her muscles relax. They recommend the use of this stick at Sports Performance centers, which is where she had come across various sizes of this product.

After attending a workshop for cyclists, I heeded the advice of one of the speakers and bought the original The Stick as well as the Sprinter model for travel (since it is shorter, and stiffer for my really stiff back).
What a great product. I can now more effectively work on my body from neck down to my ankles. A great tool to have for any athlete.

The STICK is the "STUFF"! (think rhyming word for the full effect) This is truly a modern marvel in relaxation and awesomeness. A couple deep strokes on my sore muscles gets me feeling better in no time. Highly recommended!

This stick is the best thing that has ever happened to my muscles. I play soccer and am constantly sore. The stick really relaxes your muscles so you don't feel as tight and definately reduces soreness. Buy one immediately!!

I used this during marathon training and found it to work very well. I like this particular model because it is pretty stiff and gives good pressure.

Unbearable foul, toxic smell,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I read another review in which the author said his/her Stick has a really bad smell - so bad that the person has to keep it outside in the garage. I sort of ignored the review since I had not read about any similar issues and plus it seemed silly anyway. Well, when my Sprinter Stick arrived, sure enough, it smelled. Bad. Really bad. I tried to suck it up and ignore it as I rolled my muscles for about 15 minutes. I put the stick on the carpet next to the bed and tried to sleep, but the smell was everywhere - on my hands, on my legs, in the air. I washed my hands and legs, but the Sprinter Stick on the floor still emitted such a strong odor that it was in the air. I had to move the Stick farther away before I could go to sleep.
I left my Sprinter Stick out in the open for over 2 weeks, hoping that the smell would go away, but it seems to be infused in the rubber handles. The best description I can think of for this horrible smell is... a pungent industrial rubber/plastic smell that makes you wonder if it's toxic. I cannot get rid of the smell so this thing is going to be returned. |
