Book Description

While visiting a re-enactment of an old Indian trading post, two young cousins happen upon an old Indian medicine man who teaches them the true value of the items they had traded for throughout the day. He tells them tales which actually teleport the youths into the story itself and they have to use all their knowledge, intuition and reason to figure out the message which allows them to return to the teepee for the next tale.

This book was very enjoyable. I liked the friendship bond of the two young men. I wondered if some of the story line could be traced to true Native American life experiences.

Thisis a story that wll stick with me long after I put the book down. Two boys find themselves living out the stories told to them by a mysterious old Indian they stumbled upon, and in doing so face challenges, exciting adventures and learn priceless life lessons. I'm going to read this again, but this time I will share it with my children as well.

Good story. I've met the author and his feel for the outdoors is part of his life. An avid sportsman and hunter, it shows through the outdoor and Native American culture described.
