Book Description

With a failing marriage and a career at a standstill, John Lawler's life is a mess. He decides to flee the stresses of the daily grind and hide out in his childhood home. But then a beautiful woman begins to visit him during the lonely nights; a woman who seduces him, drains him, and finally drives him to murder... Is she a dream, a succubus, or something else?

Author's Note: While the story contains graphic erotic passages, it is a mystery/suspense novel.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing October 25, 2011

This book was quite disappointing.
With the title "The Succubus" I was expecting an actual succubus, and some kind of supernatural theme, but no. (Spoiler following)
Instead it was all about a man going slowly mad as his marriage falls apart, his mother dies and his brother betrays him by sending his girlfriend to seduce him pretending to be a succubus.
The plot was rather slow, wavering back and forth as John Lawlor stumbles around trying to come to terms with slowly going mad while searching for his fake succubus, before finally reaching an ending that doesn't really wrap things up properly.
Also the publisher obviously did not employ a proof reader as the book was full of typos.
So if you want a good read about demons and supernatural events, I recommend you give this book a big miss.
