Editorial Reviews

Rarely does a young band emerge with a combination of skills, talents, and vision fully developed. Enter LA-based quintet The Lonely Wild - a young outfit whose writing and arranging talents are only surpassed by its members' ability to work seamlessly as a singular, dynamic voice. The band quickly made a name for themselves in and around Greater L.A., picking up fans such as Nic Harcourt (KCSN), Chris Douridas (KCRW), and Kevin Bronson (Buzzbands LA). The band continued to hone their dynamic live performance through a series of high-profile shows opening for Damien Rice, John Doe, The Elected, Laura Marling, and Lord Huron in addition to their highly successful residency at Silverlake's famed Satellite.

Highly recommend this debut album from LA quintet, The Lonely Wild. It's reminiscent of Danger Mouse's collaborative effort with Norah Jones and Jack White called Rome. It also has a few dashes of Calexico and Mariachi El Bronx for good measure. If you dig The Lonely Wild, be sure to check out their EP and a live album/film available from their website.

Quality, well rounded, dedicated indie band falling into the inde/alt/ever so slight gazer territory with just enough ambience and layering to make it a permanent of my playlist.

The entire album was great, from the opening song of "The Sun As It Comes" to the last song "Over The Hill." Definitely worth a listen and the purchase.
