The drama continues for the Sweet Valley gang, as Jessica Wakefield is denying to herself that she still has feeling for her soon to be ex-husband Todd. She is now acting like her old high school self, by dating her boss Michael, while the actor Liam is out of town. After leading Michael on and turning him down, Liam returns and proposes to her. Despite rejecting Liam, the man won't leave her alone. To make her life even worse, Tracy Courtright continues to make her return to VERTPLUS.NET a living hell.

Lila Fowler Matthews had faked her pregnancy on the realty show True Housewives of Sweet Valley and in the aftermath her husband left, but now Lila find out that she is actually pregnant.

Caroline Pearce is now known for running a gossip blog on Sweet Valley and she doesn't care whose lives she ruins. Her newest scoop is the newfound pictures of Bruce Patman and his lawyer Annie Whitman getting a little too cozy together in France, and of course she had to post them online for the world to see.

Now jobless, Elizabeth Wakefield can't stop thinking about whether her boyfriend, Bruce, is guilty or not guilty as his accuser, Robin Platt is believable. Elizabeth leaves Sweet Valley and heads to Robin's home state of Kentucky, where she can't find anyone who knew of a Platt family living there. Meanwhile, Elizabeth's new brother-in-law Aaron returns to Warner Gas to look for more answers and comes to a startling conclusion.

The fifth part of The Sweet Life #1: An E-Serial is fast-paced as there is so much drama going on. Bruce might be innocent, but the poor guy desperately needs some anger management. What is with Jessica? She should just beg Todd to take her back! Lila's character is just becoming more annoying in each part. Elizabeth and Aaron make a good detective team. Maybe they should get their own spin-off called Sweet Valley, P.I. I can't wait for next Sunday when this whole mess comes to an end.

I am nearly done with The Sweet Life eSeries from Francine Pascal, and just finished the fifth installment. Cutting Ties brings the drama to more of an edge, almost letting readers get the true story on Robin Platt and her accusations against Bruce Patman. The cliffhanger made me very anxious to get the final puzzle piece. I'm still hoping Jessica and Todd can make it work, though I'm really unsure Elizabeth and Bruce will get another shot at love, with the Annie obstacle now. And Lila wasn't brought up a whole lot in this book, but I'm curious where she will finish out the series with her drama. The one part I really disliked and stood out to me was when the POV turned to Jake - Jessica and Todd's son. I thought that was really unnecessary, and going from always being in the adult's minds to suddenly a toddler's was confusing - and abrupt. But if you loved the Wakefield twins and the rest of the Sweet Valley, you'll want to read this eSeries!

My inner teenager really enjoyed the Sweet Life series...definitely much better than last year's Sweet Valley Confidential! I am hoping that the series continues as it is a guilty pleasure to continue to read about the Wakefield twins and all of the other Sweet Valley residents.

Oh, my - this fifth e-serial certainly is a fast read! There's plenty of excitement and drama for each character! Caroline Pearce is as awful as ever - and Jessica is embroiled in even more relationship drama. She also seems to be a victim in the schemes of more than her evil assistant/new boss at work, but another, more personal campaign may also be working against her... The plot against Bruce begins to unravel - but will it still be too late for Elizabeth and Bruce? Lila continues to lose sympathy and Aaron Dallas hones his investigative skills while Elizabeth acts a bit snotty in Kentucky (yes, there is Internet even in states like Kentucky!).

And poor Mike McAllery loses his first husband status again - Todd is actually Jessica's third husband, not her second... And I have to admit, with all the real celebrity name dropping, it makes me miss the old fake celebrities - like Johnny Buck - where is the ten years later for his stellar career?

Haha, but, either way - I can't believe that this e-serial is drawing to a close! I do hope that they decide to continue on with the series - if they stretched out the 2nd grade, 6th grade, high school and university books for so long, they can surely extend this new Sweet Life!

Number 4 was a disapointing edition in a fairly interesting series. Number 5 is an improvement but still there is something missing from The Sweet Life and still reads as a poor soap opera. It was good to see Elizabeth back to using her detective skills anyway.

Everybody needs some breezy and light summer reading. This is perfect for an afternoon on the beach. Not to be taken seriously, just fun for SVH fans to indulge some juicy fantasies and frivolous reading! Thumbs up!

I feel this series ruins the whole sweet valley series. Francine Pascal should have stuck with the ghost writers, they did a much better job on the writing before she came out with the 10 years later series...

Can't wait for the next series to come out, as least I hope she does. The way this one ended was a little disappointing, not knowing how long I will have to wait to find out what happens in the next one.

Why are we only going to get six installments of this series?
I wonder the same thing but I assume it's because Francine Pascal originally ended SVH and the other series' so they'd go out on top instead of becoming unpopular with readers. I'm not positive but I think the only reason she did Confidential and these was because of the fans asking for them. ... Read More
