Sweetest Love,
This review is from: The Sweetest Love (MP3 Download)
OMG I LOOOOVVVEEEE this song and I've only heard it once. When I first heard it, I thought Stevie Wonder.... no, Musique Soulchild.... no, ???? Then I found out it was Robin Thicke. I knew I had to get it, I haven't heard anything with that smooth, cool, old school flavor in a long time. I sampled the whole album and I've got say, HE ROCKS IT... his best album yet.

This song DOES NOT sound like some guy on Saturday Night Live doing a parody of a bad soul song (count the times this muncher says the words "sweet", "sweeter" or "sweetest"). It sounds like one of the losers you work with, coming in on Monday morning after seeing such a skit on SNL and trying to imitate THAT version. It is horrible music distilled down to it's most pure revolting form.

There is no doubt about Robin hicke these past few years. He definitely has shown that dynamic gift of making quality music all too well. Not just from his father, Growing Pains actor Alan Thicke, but also in his music as well. He has really been reintroducing the unique appeal of Blue-eyed Soul well, and that is shown on his latest single, The Sweetest Love. The song which is the second single from his sophmore album Something Else, showcases a simple and elequent side to his soft appeal to his voice. The feeling tries to recapture the appeal he had with Lost Without U, and does a good job by showing a sophisticated take on Soul, which is something we haven't heard at all very much on radio the past year. All that I can absolutely say is that Robin has a real deal that artists like Britney Spears and Rihanna haven't brought to the table this past year, and I hope he can keep it up for awhile.
