Book Description

A T-shirt and jeans is the daily uniform for countless women. These casual basics are easy to wear, but they can be, well, boring. Now stylist Suze Solari and her “real woman” sidekick, Michele Bua, have written a handbook for elevating this bland look into something special.

With easy, step-by-step instructions, Suze and Michele show how a basic outfit can be quickly transformed into a chic, timeless look for almost any occasion. They also provide fit guidelines for every body shape, as well as shopping resources to help you refresh your T-shirt and jeans wardrobe.

If you’ve ever stared into your closet and felt clueless or overwhelmed, this book is for you. It’s written for everyday women – not fashionistas – who feel they lack the style gene. "The T-Shirt & Jeans Handbook" will show you how to keep your comfy clothes, but, with a few tweaks and tricks, achieve effortless style, every day.

I am 77 so I have substituted a terrific black pant from L L Bean. This pant also comes in a blue called raw indigo but looks like slate blue. I have at least 5 tops to match them. The book has given me much needed lift of spirit.

5.0 out of 5 stars I have waited for something like this May 11, 2014

This was a great visual book with ideas for casual stylish dressing. The authors did a fantastic job showing how a top and jeans could be taken to the next (comfortable) level just by adding a jacket, a scarf, belt or necklace. For those of us who live mostly casual lifestyles, this was full of great ideas! All items are pretty easily found, many within a small budget.

I love all the different "looks" that are shown in The T-Shirt & Jeans Handbook. The visuals paired with the descriptions are exactly what I needed to examine my existing wardrobe, figure out how I could shake up my everyday basics, and love my closet again. After reading the book, I was inspired to be more stylish and didn't have to break the bank in the process. Chapter 4: Decorating the Uniform was my favorite chapter, because "accessories are a safe way to push the style envelope." I recommend this book for anyone that is in a style slump or anyone that just loves fashion.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Bible for Very Casual Dressers May 11, 2014

I think this book is very helpful for the jeans and t-shirt devotees out there, or for those like me who just want to throw on jeans and a tee once in a while but still look pulled together. It does require some jackets and tops not in every jeans- wearing woman's closet perhaps, though. I got some nice tips from it, however, and liked it a lot. I'm sure others will .

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid advice, poor photography April 28, 2014

Title says it. If I had edited this book I would have insisted on unwrinkled clothing in updated photos. The basics ideas are here and I'm sure that some would be of use. Was it worth $5.99? Probably not since the visuals were so amateur. $1.99 would have been appropriate. That said if you can't resist- go for it:)

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Ideas May 15, 2014

I have lots of scarves that I love. However, I used to only wear them with dresses and suits. I tried some of the ideas in this book and I really enjoyed myself. I do feel better when I dress up. Why not when I am wearing jeans? Fabulous doesn't just have to happen on the weekends.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sortin Thru My Blues March 12, 2014

For years I have devoted a major part of my closet to jeans of every possible shape, color and style...and not having a clue as to what was right for me. This book does a great job of making sense of the myriad of choices out there and using things that I have and love to create that polished uniform. Suze and Michelle did a great job of breaking it all down , making it simple and real!

5.0 out of 5 stars Quick and motivating August 4, 2014
There's nothing here I didn't know, but my idea of dressing up is a tee and dark rinse jeans, accessories and killer shoes. However, I've found I've gotten lazy and forget to accessorize for everyday. This quick read reminds me that I can be just as stylish and confident by paying attention to my accessories... EVERY SINGLE DAY! I immediately went upstairs and looked through my 'best intention' purchases. (you know, the ones you swear you'll wear for the right occasion!) This book just reminded me how awesome I can look EVERYDAY by just taking those 'I swear I will wear this' scarf, necklace, bracelet that you bought because it was sooo cool (and already have in your closet). Great reminder on how you can wear your essential everyday tee and jeans but don't have to be boring!
