So after wanting a TV on my deck for a long time but not wanting to spend crazy $ on a Sunbright that wouldn't even be secure I fell into the TV Shield. Ordered it on a Monday thru Kimberly and recieved it the next day. I was very impressed with the quality of it. Very well made and sleek looking. Next I found a mount that has a locking system that allowed it to be locked via a padlock. Pulled the trigger on a 42 led 1080p tv. Went with led because it has the brightest picture. Everything was here by Friday and was ready to install. The youtube video walks you right through everything and made the install a breeze. Ran a hdmi cord off my kitchen Directv box and set the remote to rf. It looks amazing and very secure with the locking system. Had a party of 20 people and people were blown away by it. You can open the front glass and have perfect picture and sound. Had a huge storm blow thru last night and not a drop got in. If your on the fence just pull the trigger its worth every penny.

I had been looking to complete my back porch but worried about florida rain. I went ahead and did research 6 months back and practically laughed myself out of the idea. Enclosures were about $1500.00+ and pretty much unavailable or custom built. Next was an outdoor television. I was shocked at the price tag. $4,500.00 for a tv? Ummmmmmm no.

Next I was doing some searching and stumbled upon the tv shield. To my pleasant suprise it was a new product and I gave it shot. Upon arrival opened it up , read the install, watched the video and started installing my new samsung tv which I got for a steal price. Has wifi and everything.

Loaded it up on the back porch and I use antenna or wifi to stream movies and shows. Theres a ton out there that you can do with wifi, just google how to stream with that. No wires showing and its great picture and totally protected. I sprayed down my porch with a high pressure hose and said what the heck give it a shot and watch how it goes. Sprayed all up in there. Not a drop.

Next we had a practical monsoon roll through florida a few weeks back...since the tv is right at the edge of the porch it definitely got rain and probably some good 60mph winds. A few trees in the back conservation area fell down and well...again flawless. Looks good, was easy to install and work with. Barely added any weight.

I highly suggest an led screen to compete with the bright outdoors, it also runs cooler and is slimmer which gives you more room to work with. As well got the tilt/swivel mount directly from the tv shield on their website so I can adjust to perfection. Cant tell you how fun it is to have a tv outside and when the weather cools down some in florida im going to be out there all the time watching the back porch. Its like I have another room now.

Great product! Super happy! A+++++++

For many months Community Presbyterian Church in Celebration, FL discussed placing a large monitor under the porte-cochère. The elders liked this idea but had some concerns; monitor being shorted out from rain, damaged caused by the youth group kids playing there, and theft. I shared these concerns with a friend who said "You need to install The TV Shield". We ordered a 50" flat screen, a full motion mount and The TV Shield. The TV Shield was easy to install and the monitor fit perfectly. Our only challenge was the fan power cord was 2 inches too short to reach the electrical outlet. After installing The TV Shield we tested it out by repeatedly hitting it with a Kick Ball, but we won't tell that to the Youth Group Kids. Today visitors can view announcements as they walk by the entrance of our church and watch the services that we stream live to the outside monitor.

Picked up the smaller version of this as well as a 26" LED TV. Overall the product does what it says but I have a few gripes about it that caused me to not use the product after all.

1) The case is really deep for some of today's super thin LED TVs. I would have to mount the TV to 2x4s (in the 4" dimension) to get the screen even close to the front face of the enclosure. If you do not do this you will cut down the viewing angle and it looks like you are watching the TV in the bottom of a bucket.

2) I realize this is well priced compared to the other options out there but it is still way overpriced. The margin on this thing must be fantastic. It is nothing more than a square plastic molding with a plexiglass hinged door with a lock. The lock is a good deterrent but I could open this thing pretty quickly with a cutout tool and the would be thief would destroy a $400 enclosure to get a $250 TV in less than 30 sec. You would probably be better off letting the theif open it to find a cable lock screwed directly on the TV instead. At least they might give up without doing major damage first...

3) I am a consumer not a hotel and bought this to use on my patio. While it does what it says it is still a bit of an eye soar if you do not mount this in a wall between studs. Its got a curved front lip to it and in the end it is pretty obvious you have just dropped a TV into what amounts to a black plastic tub with a plexiglass front. The seal around the plexiglass is also visible from the outside and it looks like whoever installed it was about 10 beers deep... Straight lines on the seal are non existent (note it still does seal but is just ugly and cheap looking). I ended up building a plastic box myself for 1/3 the price which looks twice as good.
