A great book with nice easy recipes.

My favorite recipes so far are the oatmeal, breakfast sausages, they actually taste like they have a hint of smoked maple, and taste good.
Margaret
I've tried five of the recipes and so far they have all turned out great.

I recently bought this book from our local food coop to learn about tvp and how to use it...my wife and I have found it to be very informative. I've shared several of the recipes with my co- workers. The book is well written and easy to understand...the title could have been "tvp for dummies". I highly reccomend this book to all.

This book is really a wonderful beginners cookbook for TVP. I've made many of the recipes in it and they all turn out great. My husband, a dedicated meat eater, LOVES the TVP Sloppy Joeys! He loves sloppy joes with meat, but he likes these even better. There isn't much vegetarian food that anyone will enjoy, whether vegetatarian or not. I can't imagine being a vegetarian without TVP. If you like TVP, you need this book.

this is an easy quick TVP guide, it has the carb count for each recipe. My favorite recipes so far are the oatmeal, breakfast sausages, they actually taste like they have a hint of smoked maple, and taste good. I make a bunch and keep in freezer for the week for a quick breakfast.

I just received this book and have only made one recipe so far, but my TVP red beans and rice came out fabulous so I am looking forward to trying out the entire book.

Just bought a pile of TVP flakes and chunks, because I'm trying to wean my family off the amount of meat they (not me) eat. Also ordered this book to go along with the TVP product, figuring I would need some help figuring out how to incorporate this stuff into the menu, and that it might not be just an easy substitution issue. So far I'm pretty impressed with the recipes I've tried - Sloppy Joes, Curried Chunks, Oriental Chunks. They tasted great, and the recipes are very simple and quick to make. While the texture of the TVP chunks is a little off from the texture of, say, chicken, the combination of spices and flavors the recipes incorporate balance everything out nicely. My husband is the only one who knows I'm feeding them a meat substitute. I have two teen boys who would be quick to say "Yuck" if I told them what they were eating, no matter how good it tastes, so I think I'll wait a little longer - when I can get to the point where I can tell them they've been eating TVP for the past couple months, I'll tell them!! My only wish, relative to the book, is that it contained more recipes!

This is the most amazing book. When I purchased it I thought I would refer to it on occasion however, I find I refer to it almost everytime I am menu planning or just looking for an idea. The Country Chili recipe is my favorite with an amazing taste. My husband would not eat TVP if he was starving so I simply didn't mention the chili was made with TVP. Not only did this dedicated meat eater love the first bowl, he went back for a second and third bowl! Same thing when I fixed the Chuckwagon Soup. I even received a compliment on how good both dinners tasted. I also like that she often gives you options to do part of the work in either the microwave or in a skillet. Veggie Burgers were a lot of work but also very yummy. This is a great book for someone new to using TVP (like me). I have really enjoyed the book, I hope you do too.

I bought this book to get started cooking with TVP.

The recipes are easy to follow with ingredients you probably will already have on hand.

What I like most is that the liquid used to reconstitute the TVP is right on not too much not too little.

These recipes are easy to modify if you have special dietary needs as well.
