Cynn Chadwick has a knack for writing about family issues, emotions and fascinating characters. Her writing is sharp, humorous and emotional. Her gift for words is amazing and I get lost in the sometimes quirky and always interesting tales she weaves. Bravo! Another terrific book from Cynn Chadwick. And I'm not even the publisher!
Napping Porch Press has a winner here.

I honestly didn't expect to like this book, but the premise was intriguing so I took the plunge. I'm so glad I did. The author has a gift for story-telling and for bringing characters to life and what's more likability! So many funny vignettes in this book! Ironically, the snarky, drama queen teenaged daughter totally stole the show. Someone has obviously been there, done that and gotten the tee-shirt!

The only quarrel I have with this book was the awful relationship between the two sisters. It was just too bitter for my tastes. I could never imagine treating my worst enemy the way these two treated each other. Stuffing wedding cake down anyone's cleavage? Not done and not really funny. I think things could have been lightened up a tad here and the point of the story would still come across.

I almost want to become an alpaca farmer....

I love any book that makes my family look normal, and As The Table Turns has more than it's share of rollicking family dramas mixed with a few stray lamas...(OK, alpacas...but you trying thinking of a rhyme for that one.) Cynn Chadwick has done it again, making the craziness of the southern novel look oh so cool in the hands of Chadwick's deft writing style. I want to grow up to be just like her...minus the alpaca fur on my couch.
