5.0 out of 5 stars Great story for parents to read to their kids October 2, 2011
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I took a chance on this book and was pleasantly surprised. My son was asking me for bedtime stories and so I looked on Amazon for something. Most of what I found was older stuff or stories that were frankly too cutesy for my kid. This seemed interesting and I liked the cliffhanger idea, plus it was only a buck. So I gave it a shot.

Best dollar I've spent in sometime. The story is interesting (even to me, but I'm a big fan of Tolkein and Narnia), and my son begs me for one more every night. He also loves that the story is funny and a little cooky, with Ninja Pizza crusts, evil forests, swamp monsters and stuff like that.

I had to read one episode every night (every other night sometimes) but when it was done, the worst part is that there isn't a sequel. Josh Kilen, get on that!

It looks like he has other bedtime stories available and I might just get another one, if it's as good as this one then it should be a good time, for me AND Sammy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great bedtime story book for kids!!! September 27, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Very imaginative and magical for kids. Its very entertaining and fun for the adults doing the reading as well. All chapters end at cliff hangers and even as an adult I'm tempted to flip the (e)page and start a new chapter :)

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!! November 7, 2011

Format:Paperback
Tonight we started The Tales of Big and Little and my 8yr old daughter absolutely loves it! From the pizza crusts to Big and Little (she thinks they are a great dane and beagle lol) to the gnome ...... I watched the excitement and suspense on her face!! I now need to buy the books so she can bring them to school and share them with her classmates! She's also a major book snob! I can't even count the # of books we haven't finished. Thank you so much for writing such wonderful bedtime stories! You definitely have 2 fans here!
Keep them coming!

More About the Author

I started writing books because my son Sean kept on bugging me for bedtime stories that were more interesting than cuddly snails and happy butterflies hugging each other. So I made up my own. As the stories became more outlandish and fun, and his bedtime routine more enjoyable, I realized that other parents might be interested in telling my stories to their kids. On a whim I wrote the stories, published them, and the rest is history!

A funny thing happened as I started to write, I found it rather difficult to stop my fingers. While typing, more stories bubbled up from the recesses of my mind, and I felt a deep urge to write those as well. Now it's just a compulsion, a rather annoying one if I didn't enjoy it so much. I've written bedtime stories (of all types), marketing books, and even a parenting guide (just some things I found helpful along the way). There's more on the way. As long as my books keep helping people, I'll keep writing them.

Check out one, or two, maybe even three (for scientific purposes), to see what you think. Then let me know on my Facebook Author page (www.facebook.com/thejoshkilen) or my website joshkilen.com. I would love to hear from you.
