5.0 out of 5 stars This is THE book on tea! July 10, 1998
By JBan
Format:Hardcover
This book introduced me to the wonders of the tea leaf! Because of Norwood's book I am now an avid tea drinker. This book is ideal for the beginning tea drinker as well for the refined. You will use this book throughout your tea drinking adventures---it will not sit on your bookshelf collecting dust. Included is tea history, descriptions of each type of tea, methods of brewing, tea utensils, health aspects, tea rooms, and a big list of tea vendors (including my favorite: Upton Tea Imports).

I have not seen a better book out there on tea than this one. highly reccommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Informative March 31, 2013
By Brett
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book although not the most in depth, scientific, textbook type book, was very informative and was also fun to read. It talks some about the author and then gives some very good although brief info on all the different kinds of tea, they're brewing guidlines,, and history. Its is somewhat disconserning that the author doesn't even drink tea but once I got past that, The author does know what he's talking about and does have experience/history of familiearity with tea and does do the research and interviews to substantiate the information in the book. If you like and drink many kinds of tea and want some casual reading on it I can surely recomend it... If nothing else it would make a good addition to any kitchen/cooking collection as a pairing reference or as a good coffee table (or tea table as it were) book for the casual flipping through in a house of tea lovers.
