Don't you think it's about time you learned what the 10 Commandments are all about?

Sadly, most people know little about the Ten Commandments. Few people can name more than three or four of them.

Those who take the time to study the commandments find they're not a list of "Do nots," but are in fact God's guide to the good life—a life full of blessings. That's why the Bible calls them "the royal law" and "the law of liberty."

There's much more to these commandments than meets the eye. They're not just God's way of preventing us from having a good time.

The commandments are designed to protect us, our families and our communities. They're a guide to transforming the way we think, what we do and how we live. They truly are ten keys to a successful and happy life!

Learn how you can begin having a life full of blessings by reading The Ten Commandments today!

Inside this Bible Study Aid ebook:

"Every commandment of God is for our good. Did you notice in the preceding passage that obeying God’s commandments and practicing love are irrevocably linked together in God’s eyes? This is because the commandments define the love that is the foundation for all godly relationships."

"...Jesus spoke clearly and to the point. God’s law has not been abolished, and, according to Christ’s own words, anyone who teaches so is directly contradicting Him and is in serious spiritual trouble."

"It is important that we believe what Jesus and His apostles said about their own view of the commandments of God. Once that is clear to us, then the reasonings of men cannot deter us from respecting and obeying those commandments from the heart."

5.0 out of 5 stars Good learning tool February 9, 2012
By Steven
Format:Kindle Edition
This book gives a thoughtful look at God's 10 commandments, and it's a good learning tool for a Christian who wants to understand how the 10 commandments are relevant today as we seek to follow Christ. Just like Christ taught that hating your brother is spiritually the same as murder, this book shows how each of the commandments has a deeper meaning that applies to us today.

5.0 out of 5 stars In Depth Look at The Ten Commandments December 6, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
"Instead of being an encumbrance, the commandments of God light the path to godly love and liberty."

I know nothing about the United Church of God besides that I've read a few of their books which have been helpful to me. This was free so I decided to read it. So I'm not promoting this church by reviewing their book. I'm judging this book by its contents alone.

I found this book to be very helpful to me as it is an in depth look at The Ten Commandments. What this book explains is that we show love to God by keeping his commandments. Unlike some churches that teach that the Ten Commandments are no longer valid, this book teaches that they are still very valid and shows how they are also taught by the New Testament, especially by Jesus.

This book explains why you should not pray to idols and gives great reasons. We are also not supposed to pray to a picture of Jesus or God. (I did this as a child actually or at least I have a picture of praying near a picture). No one told me otherwise. Also this book explains why we should not use God's name in vain. I have a friend who does and told me God doesn't mind. I have to remind him of the third commandment. I never hear anyone swearing using the names of other religion's gods these days.

What I did wonder about however is whether going to church on a Sunday is going against one of the commandments. If you don't go to church on a Saturday are you breaking the commandment? I will have to research this further.

So this book argues that keeping The Ten Commandments is as relevant today as it was in Old Testament times. I think if parents taught these commandments to their children the world would be more peaceful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Two Thumbs Up July 23, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Given "Oh, it's her" warning, I did some research on the United Church of God. While I do not share many of their beliefs - God not being a Trinity or becoming "spirit-born divine beings who are part of Elohim, or unclean food - Matthew 15:11, I will not judge or condemn them. I found this to be a well thought out discussion of God's commandments. I do observe the Sabbath day because God commanded it - not due to the United Church of God requirement - which I was unaware of. My own church teaches Sunday worship which is a tradition of men. Praise the Lord!

The 10 commandments have been well explained. The Sabbath, being one of the 10 commandments, should be followed up by the booklet "Sunset to Sunset."
