Book Description

The Ten Greatest Prayers of the Bible explores the intersection between ordinary and great prayers. Featuring actual prayers from biblical heroes such as Solomon, Hezekiah, Jesus and many others, this book shows you how to pray and achieve results from God the way that spiritual giants of the Bible did. In this book, you will:

• Learn why profound vocabularies and long speeches are not necessary in order to achieve miraculous results
• Learn how spoken and unspoken prayers can unlock healing, miracles and great blessings
• Learn how to pray and receive what you ask from God and more!
• Examine what roles faith, humility, brokenness and the willingness to struggle play in getting your prayers answered

This thorough study of the Bible’s greatest prayers reveals astounding truths about prayer and how to actually get miraculous results. By the time you finish this book, your old notions will be replaced by the reality of how real people prayed and achieved tremendous results. Prepare to move beyond rituals and learn how to shake heaven and earth as you pray the way great people of the Bible did.

The Ten Greatest Prayers of the Bible is one of those books that demands strong respect for prayer. The author has carefully selected 10 prayers that he considers to be some of the strongest Scripture has to offer. He then dissects each one into categories such as the prayer itself (Scripture quotation), what was being prayed for, background information on the people being discussed, key elements of the prayer, and the result of the prayer.

From the opening introduction to the last page, you can feel the passion of the author. You can tell when a book has been thrown together without any passion and this is not one of those books. There are some very profound statements made that you can't help but highlight. These include:

- "Many people resort to arguing with others and letting their disagreements turn physical because they lack the crucial experience of how to deal with problems in a spiritual way."

- "Jesus knew that the one purpose he had come into the world for was now at hand (John 1:29).

- "If the greatest commandment is to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength, then why don't we open up and show our affection with everything we have?"

- "While Elijah operated solely by faith that God would send His pwer down from Heaven, we should be confident in the power that is already dwelling inside us through the Holy Spirit!"

- "We don't always have to make loud and grandiose prayers in order for God to hear us."

- "We must realize that we have been created with the intent of glorifying God (Isaiah 43:7).

I dare say, after reading this book, one will find it difficult to not inspect their own walk and personal relationship with God.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book! June 25, 2013
By MaryAnn
Format:Paperback
This book is an invitation to communicate with God the Father who invites us into an eternal partnership through prayer. In theory, prayer is the essential human act, a priceless point of contact between us and the God of the universe. In practice, prayer is often frustrating, confusing, and fraught with mystery.

Reynolds strikes a moving chord with this book that is more full of yearning and wonder than it is of easy answers. Prayer, he writes, is our partnership with God, our chance to join forces with God's power to confront suffering and evil head-on. I highly recommend this book to you.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is really suggestive and maybe bias? June 5, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It is not a bad read but I can find what I would consider greater prayers, that is why I only gave it a four star. It does provide some insights into how to pray and the necessity for us to show respect toward the Heavenly Father, something I wonder if I even do while praying. So I now try hard to get in the right shape of mind, or should I say spiritual mind before I pray and have started to focus on creating a spiritual room for praying. God Bless.
