Book Description

Highlighting the triumphs and tragedies Jimmy Korderas experienced, this entertaining biography focuses on his 20-year career as a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) referee. For the first time, Korderas talks about the harrowing experience of being in the ring during Owen Hart’s accident and about the horrific effects of the Chris Benoit tragedy—the most difficult moments of his life in wrestling. The book also includes untold stories from both inside and outside the ring, highlighting the bonds Korderas formed with WWE superstars such as Eddie Guerrero, Edge, John Cena, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Christian, and Chris Jericho. A fun read from a man who, rather than having an ax to grind, wants to inspire wrestling fans and prove that dreams do come true.

Editorial Reviews

Review

“This book is great if you are looking for an unbiased look at the goings-on in WWF/WWE from the mid-80 all the way to the mid-2000s.  Jimmy traveled the world with WWE and truly has some fun stories to tell.  It's a nice look at the inner workings and the role of a pro wrestling referee as well.” —ProWrestlingRoundup.com

“‘The Three Count’ is the story of a wrestling fan that got to live out his dream job, the story of a good guy who got to win in the end. And as the saying goes, it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.” —Lance Storm, Baltimore Sun

“ I suggest that you read this account of a life long fan's dream job that took him around the world with WWE many times where he personally experienced some of the most significant moments in WWE history. Jimmy's one of the really good guys and his stories from a referee's perspective are excellent.” —Jim Ross, J.R.'s Place

3.0 out of 5 stars So-so April 21, 2013

While some of the "on the road" stories were interesting, I think Mr. Korderas was very cautious as to not hurt anyone's feelings. If you want an account of backstage and road stories that is no holds barred try Bob Holly's book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun! April 20, 2013

This isn't a tell-all, spill the secrets, stick the knife in the back book. If anything, it's a love story.

Yes, I said a love story. A love story about a man that lived his dreams, and loved every second of it.

Sometimes, that's all you need.

3.0 out of 5 stars Expected more June 17, 2013

He has some good stories in this book but if you're going to write a book don't hold back. Jimmy leaves you wanting more without delivering. Too many times he dabbles on an issue then don't get into details. I've read many books from wrestlers and this one is just average.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for any wrestling fan June 22, 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
An excellent, and intriguing read into the life of a wrestling fanatic turned referee. Great insight, and candor from a man who lived through, and saw some of the biggest moment sin wrestling over the past two decades. I couldn't put it down, and would recommend to any wrestling fan.

Not a great writer, but it's a good effort. Some good behind the scenes info about how some of the matches and ideas were developed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad. February 21, 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Not a bad book, held my interest. Author was, overall, very careful to not say anything derogatory about anyone which is not a bad trait to have but caused the book to not be as interesting as it could have been.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good not great November 21, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Lots of good stories and Korderas is a really liable guy but this would have been greatly improved by having the assistance of a biographer to flesh out the stories and help with the pacing. I'm left feeling like there could and should have been so much more.
