The regions covered include general information about skiing in the area and various accommodation options.
I recommend this book to anyone thinking about planning a ski trip.
There is also a lot more free info to be found on TripAdvisor.com . Comments on snow-forecast.com are also quite good. Bottom line, save your money!
Since I've only skied locally where I live, the places and descriptions where very helpful. Though the ones mentioned are not "local" they are still doable with planning (like Aspen or Jackson Hole which sounds really neat). I'm sure there must be many more and I kind of wish the author would come out with a U.S. (only) ski resort guide.
I found the tips/reminders helpful too.. some of them are obvious (gloves, hat, etc) but others were not (like swimwear! might not have thought of that one), and of course sunblock. I've seen too many friends come back with "raccoon eyes" after a ski trip.
Overall a very quick and short read, but something easy to refer back to when you're just starting your ski vacation and need some ideas on where to visit the best luxury ski resorts.
The book starts with some simple tips on skiing and finding the right resort for what you want out of a skiing trip. There are some things like equipment and safety and even tour guides...which is nice.
I would recommend this book for the avid skier.
