About the Author

D. J. Eagle Bear Vanas is a nationally acclaimed motivational speaker and author of Odawa Indian and Dutch descent. His experiences as a veteran Sun Dancer, captain in the U.S. Air Force, and business owner give him powerful insight into boosting performance and breaking through the barriers to success. One of the only Native American members of the National Speakers Association, D.J. owns Native Discovery Inc., a company dedicated to "building the warriors of tomorrow today. His clients include NASA, Hewlett-Packard, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and hundreds of Native American tribes, nations, and schools. D.J. and his wife, Arienne, live with their daughter, Gabrielle, in Colorado.

More About the Author

D.J. Vanas was born to teenage parents in poverty and slept in a dresser drawer for the first three months of his life. Now, he is an internationally-acclaimed motivational speaker, author and a leadership and personal development expert that shows organizations how to practically apply the power of the warrior spirit to perform at their best, stay resilient and thrive in tough, changing environments. For two decades, he has delivered his dynamic programs in 49 states and overseas to over 5,000 audiences including Walt Disney, NASA, Wells Fargo, Boston Children's Hospital, United States Secret Service, Subaru, Costco and hundreds of tribal governments, communities and schools. He's also been invited to the White House to speak - twice.

If you think you've read "all those inspirational books" before, then you haven't read this one. D.J. Vanas has crafted a tight and illuminating book that is guaranteed to make you see your life in a new way. Engaging, reflective, and often humorous in humble way, The Tiny Warrior condenses an amazing amount of wisdom into less than 100 pages. I spent more time pausing to consider what I had just read than I did actually reading it - and that's the way it should be.

The Tiny Warrior has been inspirational, even life-changing for each person that I know who has read it. This book brings life's most important lessons into clear focus in a way that transcends gender, age, and culture. Anyone who reads The Tiny Warrior with an open heart and mind will find in it the motivation, the inspiration and the challenge to live a life that fosters success for self, framed within the ultimate goal of service to others.
I have been using The Tiny Warrior in my community college classroom as a required text in a College Success course with great success. One of my colleagues is using The Tiny Warrior at a voluntary lunch reading for her students and finds that the students willingly come back day after day to hear more.
I have shared the book with several elementary school teachers who find that it keeps their students' interest and is perfect as a new and different supplement to the Character Counts curriculum already present in their schools.
Because the reading level is appropriate for children through adults, the lessons within the pages are not intimidating. Discussion of the important topics covered in The Tiny Warrior flows easily from the readers or listeners because they see themselves within the story.
Read it for yourself and then share it with others.

I have read and listened to many, many "motivational" authors and speakers. Not until reading The Tiny Warrior did I find the ultimate in inspiring and motivational guidance. Vanas has the rare skill of packing large messages into few words. Skilfully written, this book appeals to all ages from 7 to 70 and is a "must read" for anyone striving to realize their full potential.
