Tommie is a native of Southern California. He grew up in poverty and was introduced to drugs, alcohol, and gangs as a pre-teen. The juvenile justice system, and later the California Department of Corrections, became his home. By God's grace, Tommie was introduced to Jesus Christ through a faithful Christian prison ministry. I found this book to offer hope to anyone in need of hope for a new life.

The Tommie Scott Story is a powerful autobiography of what it is like to grow up in the gangs of south central Los Angeles. Tommie takes the reader down his path of destruction through the gangs, drugs and crime fueled by hate as he is in and out of jails and prisons. The amazing and miraculous change in his life makes his story a book that is one of the most inspirational books in print today. For someone in gangs or living a destructive lifestyle Tommie's life story will show there is a way to experience real love and a productive future. I highly recommend this book for everyone to read.

Powerful autobiography. A must read, especially if you or someone you know needs hope.

The Tommie Scott Story is a griping autobiography of Tommie's life and his involvement with gangs, drugs, and crime. It is a story of hope and inspiration. It is a story of redemption and restoration, and how his life was radically changed by a prison ministry. Tommie surrendered his life to The One who could change his life, Jesus Christ. He gave up the life he was living to be an ambassador for Christ. He is a walking, living testimony that no matter what you have come from and what you have done there is hope and a better way to live. It does not matter what you have done, Jesus forgives and he redeems. He is now serving Christ as His vessel, married to his love, and has five children. What a turn-around.

As a counselor and an author and a former at-risk youth counselor including gang involvement, I would highly recommend The Tommie Scott Story to at-risk youth, prison ministries, anyone coming from addiction, dysfunctional families, and anyone needing hope that they can have a better life.

Great and inspiring read!
