Editorial Reviews Review

At a time when the fate of the world seems increasingly uncertain, The Translucent Revolution provides a compelling and convincing argument that radical positive change is taking place throughout our global society, resulting in increasing numbers of people from diverse and divergent backgrounds who are awakening to a state Ardagh defines as "translucent." In the process, they are becoming part of a potentially critical mass of people capable of triggering a worldaround awakening of deeper purpose, joy, compassion, self-fulfillment, and service to others.

Ardagh studied this "translucent revolution" for more than a decade, after years of spiritual seeking that culminated in his own awakening of his true inner state of being after famed spiritual teacher H.W. L. Poonja asked him, "Who is the one trying to be free? Who are you really?" What he subsequently discovered was that experiencing his inner awakening was far easier than living and maintaining it, but in the years since, he discovered ways of doing so, finding in the process that many others around the globe are now doing so as well.

As part of his research for The Translucent Revolution, Ardagh interviewed others from all walks of life he are awakening to similar experiences, including Ram Dass, Eckhart Tolle, Jean Houston, and Neale Donald Walsch. In all, he interviewed over 170 people, compiling 250 tapes and 3,000 pages of transcripts, the essence of which he distilled into this book. After opening with an examination of what "translucence" is and how it can be lived after the radical awakening that leads to it, Ardagh then explores how translucence can positively transform individuals in terms of their self-identity, personal actions, feelings, relationships, sexual partnering, parenting, and art. From there he examines the affects of translucence in collective society in terms of education, business, health care, religion, and global sense of community. Throughout the book, he provides readers with many experiential exercises they can do, both in the form of "Try It Yourself" exhortations and gentler "Nudges" that can be performed individually and with a partner. The end result is a doorway to a transformational journey that literally leaps off the written page.--Larry Trivieri

If you've ever wondered why your are here, what your purpose is on the planet at this time in history, and what you can do to help further our evolutionary process, this book is for you.

If you've ever felt that you knew there had to be a larger purpose in life, and that endless possibilities existed, but you didn't know exactly how to tap in to the transformation in consciousness that is rapidly unfolding, this book is for you.

I owned a metaphysical bookstore for over 14 years and never, in all that time, did I come across a book so well researched, so enlightening and hopeful as The Translucent Revolution.

This book, will no doubt, be an instant classic and is one of the best, if not THE best book on human transformation and higher states of consciousness I've ever read. A delicious read.

Dive in, if you dare, to find out there are millions of us out there on the cusp of an enormous shift in consciousness and evolutionary change.

Format: Paperback
The Translucent Revolution, by Arjuna Ardagh, is one of the best books I've ever read. It is geared to the millions of people who have woken up to their true nature (and has lessons on how to wake up if you haven't already). Arjuna calls those who have woken up "translucent" and I'm sure this will be a new meaning for this word. Arjuna says "We have realized the ultimate truth in snapshots, that all is perfect as it is. Hopefully, we also have the humility to see that we all have habits of thought that are in constant rebellion with this lucent reality, this living in the now." He has interviewed hundreds of people who have woken up and uses his own experience as well as advice and quotes from all these people on how to stabilize and enrich this experience in everyday life. He addresses parenting, business, relationships, emotions, sex, aging, politics; "all stuff we might not expect to discuss in a spiritual book" He also addresses the spiritual myths which surround waking up. He says "Translucents have canceled their subscription to the self-improvement industry; they no longer pin their sense of well being, their connectedness and peace, on the process of fixing themselves. Yet they fully recognize the dysfunctional habits that hurt people and create they have no resistance to looking at these old habits, not as an attempt to improve the personal, but in service to moving beyond it and giving the realization space to breathe." If you have woken up, and find yourself in a strange new world, or if you would like to wake up, this is just the book for you. My highest recommendation. "Iago is the dominant trance state of our planet. It influences our relationships, our sexuality, our parenting, and our attempts to relax. It permeates corporate business, international politics, and our economic system." ~Arjuna Ardagh

Arjuna Ardagh's "The Translucent Revolution" is not a book of pure observatory nature; it is also infused with Arjuna Ardagh's personal beliefs, life experience and religious/political leanings, not to mention his weariness with an entire sphere of religious belief. The main premise is to validate the shift in consciousness and to present this as a cultural phenomenon.

His research includes personal observations of healing, detailed stories, research and in-depth interviews with spiritual leaders like Ram Dass, David Deida, Jack Canfield, Steven Halpern (sound healing), Lama Surya Das, Eckhart Tolle, and many more fascinating individuals. The wide variety of ways people awaken is presented in order to make "enlightenment" much more accessible. Arjuna Ardagh also interviews business leaders like Greg Steltenpohl from Odwalla.

While this book is a result of extensive research in the field of human consciousness it is not purely factual, although concepts are gently introduced for maximum intellectual absorption. Through interviews, Arjuna Ardagh uncovers an awakening of people he calls "Translucents." These are individuals who claim changes in their spiritual lives which would indicate a transforming state of awakening. Their life emanates a state of translucence, radiance and beauty. They have moved from a state of egocentric behavior to a kosmocentric awareness and may even see living as a form of art.

This is a work of tremendous scope and wisdom, written with intelligence, grace and humor. I recommend it to anyone who has ever been a 'seeker', or experienced a spiritual moment which seemed to disappear into the daily flow of life, or felt that life could be richer, fuller. Ardagh's work vibrantly demonstrates that it's all here, now.

I must have been waiting for this book.... and I sincerely thank Mr Ardagh for his great service. A tremendously useful book for all who struggle with the evolutionary process. You will be comforted. You will be encouraged. You will see how normal the struggle is and..... that you are so not alone. We ALL struggle at some time and to some degree. We ALL suffer paradox :

Onwards and upwards... great humanity... how DO we caringly live IN matter and at the same time live the Truth that ultimately nothing matters ?
