Book Description

January 5, 2010
"Will make you laugh today and provide insights you can use on Monday morning." -Tom Rath, author of How Full is Your Bucket?

Buddha called it the Middle Path, Albert Einstein used it to reconcile competing beliefs about science and religion, and Barack Obama applied it to politics and skyrocketed into the Oval Office.

It's the Triangle of Truth-a concept that is both old and new, and it's the secret to solving problems everywhere from the bedroom to the boardroom and beyond. Drawing on wisdom from some of the world's greatest thinkers, McLeod delivers a problem-solving model that goes beyond either/or thinking, recasting the debate on everything from sex and politics to business and religion. A blend of personal insight, business wisdom, everyday spirituality and humor, The Triangle of Truth is a just-in-time read for anyone who is tired of arguments, angst, and stalemates and is ready for real solutions to every problem, large or small.

Lisa McLeod - The Back Story

Lisa was voted "Most Talkative" in her high school class. (Classmate Sandra Bullock won "Most Likely to Brighten Your Day," proving that they both chose the right careers.)

From that talkative start, Lisa began to recognize that the way we communicate with each other determines our success or failure in every endeavor. When she started her career in sales she was fascinated to see how small nuances in communication could affect the outcome of an entire organization.

Her first job at age 14 was at Donut King in Arlington, Virginia, where she once sold over 700 donuts in a single shift.

4.0 out of 5 stars Inspirational guide to problem solving January 3, 2011
Format:Hardcover
Here's a book for anyone who has ever argued with a colleague, bickered with a boss or tried to negotiate a business deal with an important client. Lisa Earle McLeod takes readers on a journey through her life and into the lives of prominent figures to introduce the seemingly simple concept of "The Triangle of Truth," a problem-solving technique based on seven basic principles. The Triangle solution seems both intuitive and potentially transformative, if not always easy to achieve. While a straightforward read, the book is a bit repetitive and often too touchy-feely for the business world. Still, it is optimistic, straightforward, illuminating and full of useful tips, including references to related websites. getAbstract suggests this book to any open-minded business leader or manager interested in solving problems and making peace.

5.0 out of 5 stars Insight occurs at 30,000 feet. March 18, 2011
Format:Hardcover
Having worked with thousands of people in the realm of personal clarity and extraordinary relationships I find Lisa's book a refreshingly new way to bring people to a higher level awareness and consciousness without the typical trauma and disconnect. This is an elegant solution that recognizes that everything is truth to someone. This awareness creates a space where all things become possible. I found the author's examples and stories wonderfully candid and engaging. No one ever convinced anyone of anything by making them wrong. If you want to learn how to engage and enroll another person or group with ease, elegance and authority, you need the formula this book provides. Along the way it opens you up to a whole new realm of reality, outside the influence of the world's predictable fear, uncertainty and doubt paradigm. I highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for All Positive Work Environments April 4, 2010
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I manage a large WIC (Women, Infants and Children) program in the Atlanta Area. We have a motivated work force who are constantly trying to improve our attitudes towards each other and with our clients. This book offers tools for both. After reading the book, I chose to purchase 18 copes for our supervisory staff's reading group. We read a book and determine how we can utilize the information and tools with our staff and each other to improve service delivery. Although we haven't begun the process of sharing yet...I am excited by the possibilities. The skills of honoring the other's truth will help us toward our goals of Servant Leadership. Hopefully, through our supervisors modeling and explaing the "truth skills" from this book, we will help our staff move even further along the way towards strengths building with our clients. The hoped for outcome....behavior change positively impacting obesity, low birth weight and prematurity. Georgia needs this kind of help. Just wanted to say, I believe and choose to act to assure these skills are applied in our public workforce. This book is intended for everyone both in the work life (public and private sectors) and personal life of individuals.
