John MacEachern was born October 17th, 1941 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and was raised in the small farming community of Kleinburg Ontario just north of Toronto. John attended the School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration at Cornell University in Ithaca New York. He worked for twenty two years for Canadian Pacific Hotels, now known as Fairmount Hotels, until he left to open his own fine dining establishments: The Doctor's House in his hometown of Kleinburg and The Captain's House in Chester, Nova Scotia. I bought this book without knowing anything about it and I loved it. A fun whodunnit that's a perfect read for a beach holiday or a Sunday afternoon at home. I like page-turners and this book definitely qualifies! And don't let the title scare you, you don't have to know anything about hockey to be completely wrapped up in the story. 5 out of 5.

This is a very fast, exciting read - a page-turner that rivals any 'Girl With...' novels, which I devoured. I loved that it was set in the 60's - you forget how many things have changed! I highly recommend it.

Really enjoyed this book! I picked it up and was finished with it in 2 days because I couldnt' put it down. The time period (1960's) seemed a perfect setting, and Jack, the main character, was easy to root for.

A great read, page turning action the keeps you glued to the pages. I am looking forward to the next in a long line of books to come. Nothing like Canadian writers
