Book Description

May 8, 2003
The Trophy Abyss, Rebecca Easton s first novel, is an emotional narrative of a young woman s disturbing struggle to escape from the power of a succession of manipulating and controlling people. This story takes place when the main character, Beverly White, is in her mid-twenties. She is a rebellious young woman who fights defiantly to hold true to her personal values, even though she ends up in horrific circumstances. Poverty struck as a child, Beverly flees the rural Illinois town with no hope for her future. Easton unfolds the story behind a mother and father who had abandoned Beverly, and the boyfriend who beat her. Eventually Beverly lands in Houston, Texas where she is sucked into a crueler world of treacherous high rollers and develops a twisted sense of right and wrong.

Editorial Reviews

Review

MWLA Review, a reviewer for MWLA, December 17, 2003 Very Moving Very Engrossing Story! The Trophy Abyss is a very moving book. Rebecca Easton is a very talented writer. I found Reba so believable that I wanted to take care of her. The trials and tribulations she faces are too real. Anyone, man or woman, can relate to this book. If, after reading this book, you don t feel moved, you might consider having yourself checked out. Ms. Easton, you have done an outstanding job and should be very proud. Well Done! Highly Recommended! --MWLA Review

The Finished Line Consulting Review: November 1, 2003 Reviewer: Susan Johnson, Editor in Chief The main character, Beverly, is so believable! Five star rating to Ms. Easton. A plethora of emotions engulf you as you are consumed from one page to the next down some twisted deceitful paths into turbulent circumstances only to be whisked into a frenzy of cheering when the Beverly succeeds! --Finished Line Consulting
