From the Publisher

This is one of those unique books that seems to come into the hands of just the person who really needs it. We get numerous calls and letters from readers who got the book at just the right time in their lives. Some of the things they had to say about the book are: Jeff Y., North Carolina - "I believe that if I continue to use your book as my guide I will get out of first gear and into HIGH gear!!" Michael R. White, Mayor of the City of Cleveland, Ohio - "From what I have read so far, the book does a good job covering the steps we must embrace to become successful. The book will be a positive addition to my library and a useful resource."

The Twelve Universal Laws of Success is not explicitly derived from Napoleon Hill's popular works . . . but it is clearly an intellectual heir of that work. If you liked Mr. Hill's work, you will probably enjoy this book very much. If you do not know Mr. Hill's work, you could do worse than to begin with this book instead of Mr. Hill's books.
Although almost everyone admires Napoleon Hill's work on the requirements for being successful, most will agree that he was always somewhat opaque in describing what he had learned. His later books are clearer, but not crystal clear. For that reason, I'm always pleased when someone connects the dots better on the same subject. The Twelve Universal Laws of Success is such a book. I am very glad I read it. Mr. Herbert Harris does quite a remarkable job of combining the perspectives of physical science, psychology and different religions to provide a very clear view of how to lead a life directed towards worthy goals that you achieve. Those who are Christians will find strength in his use of many Biblical quotations.
As I read the twelve laws, I sometimes felt like I was being taken on a tour around a statue. By seeing more perspectives, I could understand the holism of the statue much better . . . or in this case, what is required for success. So don't be surprised at what will seem like a little redundancy in the rules. Some of them are really axioms of other rules . . . but ones that you might not have figured out on your own. For example, the law of change is an axiom of the law of thought.
The material is well organized. The book begins with much helpful background information, including how to study any new subject or book. Now, that's getting down to brass tacks!

This book is absolutely wonderful. When I purchased it, I wanted to read it immediately as I was so impressed by the content. I am almost finished and plan on rereading it immediately doing the questions and exercises therein. I am an avid reader and have read numerous books on success, personal development, and etc. Personlly, I think this book is better than 'Think and Grow Rich.' It breaks everything down so simplistically that all you have to do is just follow the steps. I don't see how anyone can go wrong if they just simply follow the steps. Everyone aspiring to take their lives to the next level spiritually and professionally should read this book. It's the best book that I've ever read, and the spiritual marriage and relevance between the universal laws and biblical scripture is just phenomenally done. I just love this book and am using my current copy as a workbook and as my personal success handbook. I plan on purchasing others just to have on hand. I also want to purchase one for my best friend as he and I are on the same level of consciousness. This book is just truly that wonderful and amazing as it surpasses and outranks all others.

In 2006 I had the pleasure of interviewing Mr. Herbert Harris for my syndicated radio show, "Ashe'!" Mr. Harris sent me a copy of his popular book to acquaint me with his work. Not only did Mr. Harris prove to be a dynamic interview subject, his book also was a succinct guide for getting and staying on the road to success. "Twelve Universal Laws of Success" serves both the neophyte seeker and the adept. I personally discovered the restorative power of "The Twelve Universal Laws of Success." As an artist, lecturer, producer, and ordained minister who has built a 30 year career motivating others via mass media, I faced my own critical challenge that threatened to halt my life's work. Lifelong epilepsy and severe asthma became progressively disabling conditions for me in 2006.

I had the nerve to be surprised to learn how many people were anxious to see my downfall. Even close family members encouraged me to give up my Internet-based radio station, my syndicated radio show, my TV show, my online magazine, my performing, lecturing, ministering, and motivational column. In essence, to give up my life's work. I was laughed at, told to go on welfare or become a receptionist. I carried "Twelve Universal Laws" in my bag, reading it and re-reading it as I traveled on buses, trains, and especially on my way to and from doctor appointments and sitting in hospital emergency rooms. It kept me focused. I tuned out every naysayer.
I was also blessed to learn that Mr. Harris lives what he teaches. His uplifting phone chats gave me a snapshot into the workings of his own everyday life, inspiring me to truly master my own success. While healing I finished writing my own book.
