This book is handy and full of great ideas for Christmas decorating, recipes and gift giving. It is also spiral bound, which means it's easier to use when you're doing things, even multiple things, and it tells us the authors thought of everything!

Chapter One covers 26 crafting projects for the home -- decorating a tree and banisters; making ornaments and tree toppers, wreaths and skirts; centerpieces, table linens and place settings. I found probably 8 ideas I would like to try. The projects use a variety of techniques and can usually be adapted to your own thoughts or situation.

Chapter Two is about gift giving -- all aspects of wrapping presents as well as ideas for gifts you can make yourself, such as jewelry, oils, and others. There're also ideas for stockings, advent calendars, cards and more.

Chapter Three contains 14 ideas for kids' crafts and recipes. Chapter Four concerns holiday entertaining, including brunches and parties for Christmas week through New Year's. Chapters Five through Eight cover recipes for appetizers, brunch, entrees, desserts and drinks (alcoholic and non), including menu suggestions.

I think there were some very good tips for parties, and a number of recipes I want to try. There are a good number of appetizers, and the recipes tend to be straightforward without using cans or packages, upscale without necessarily being elegant. Just the kind of thing that would be nice for family gatherings, dinners, brunches or parties. The recipes I've tried, twice baked sweet potatoes and chicken with mushroom sauce, for example, came out very well, looking as nice as the photos. And there are lots of good photos for both the food and the crafts.

I did not like this book. I gave it 2 stars just for the photos but was disappointed with the crafts offered. I guess I thought it would have a lot of things I would enjoy making. But instead it very difficult to understand and the crafts were not appealing to me. Don't let the number of crafts on the cover title make you think it will be something worth buying. Always check...thumb through it first to make sure.

I had borrowed this book from the Library... I enjoyed going through it so much so that I decided to buy it.
I have so many "post-its" marking projects that I plan to do this summer.....
Great book, well worth the money.
