What the Stars Are Saying About The Ultimate New York Diet

"The Victoria's Secret show is the most challenging appearance for any model. Just eight weeks after I gave birth, David had my body lingerie- and runway-ready for the show. His program works fast--and, more important, the results last."
--Heidi Klum

"David's comprehensive approach has transformed not only my body, but also how I feel inside my body. More than just a quick fix, his Ultimate New York Body Plan has truly changed my life, giving me the strength, knowledge, and confidence to be my best self."
--Liv Tyler

"David is incredible. For David, no one is beyond looking his or her best. No one is too old or too large."
--Ellen Barkin

"I am endlessly grateful for the input David has had on my body and my life."
--Kerry Washington

"David Kirsch has an unbelievable way of individualizing a comprehensive exercise plan for achieving better health and physical strength. His charismatic and energizing personality is evident in his latest book, The Ultimate New York Diet, where exercise becomes the pillar for the motivation and willpower to seek overall health."
--Connie Guterson, author of The Sonoma Diet

"Too often, patients feel that they must make a trade-off between losing weight and staying healthy. David's plan does not require this trade-off, and it's for this reason that I endorse it wholeheartedly."
--Mehmet C. Oz, M.D., Professor and Vice Chairman of Surgery, Columbia University, and coauthor, You: The Owner's Manual

I bought this after a beautiful woman whom I know told me about David's products; I purchased from his wellness store and was so amazed by his energy products, that I wanted to know more. After reading the book, I was intrigued, so I decided to commit to Phase 1 of the diet for two weeks. My metabolism was really sluggish after two months of excess, so I was ready to do something that people said would fire it up again.

Phase 1 is tough--you cut out alcohol, bread, dairy, carbs, fruit, and most fats. I thought I was going to be a carb-starving biatch, but I figured I could last two weeks. I followed the plan to the letter and didn't cheat. I made some adjustments because I am a vegetarian, but I imagine the plan would be even easier if you eat chicken and fish. Still, I modified his recipies to include tofu and beans and managed not to get too bored.

I didn't think I'd stay full off of just a protein shake for breakfast (I "need" a carb in the morning) but I surprisingly did. Eating protein throughout the day kept me full. I had a protein shake for breakfast, almonds for a snack, big salad for lunch, egg whites or protein shake for a snack, and some variation of stir fry for dinner. I already exercised regularly, but I added more strength training moves to my routine, something I've wanted to do for a while but just never committed to.

All I can say is WOW! I lost 3 inches from my waist the first week, and 2 the second!!! I am usually bloated after eating, but eating this clean left my stomach flatter than it's been in ages. I cut my caffeine habit and my sugar addiction (by cutting dairy and fruit, you pretty much cut sugar too). I had a ton of energy and felt AMAZING after TWO WEEKS. I really like his "no excuses" approach.

With so many fitness and diet fads in existance, it is difficult to find one that that is realistic and will work. It is not easy to change your diet, and to stick to a nutritional plan. Until now...

David Kirsch's books are an inspiration to the real woman. His diet and excercise plans are easily tailored to your lifestyle. I just had a baby and do not have time to work out. I have followed David's diet plan and have been able to take off the baby weight, and them some. It doesn't feel like dieting, and I hate to diet.

This book will work for you if you love to cook and love to eat. You will not be on a diet, it will not seem like you are changing your lifestyle, and you can continue to use these recipes for the rest of your life.

I was skeptical at first when I heard about the Ultimate NY Diet, however, after reading the book, and being on the diet for almost three months I am an avid fan! I would whole-heartedly recommend this book to anyone looking to increase their energy levels and to lose weight. The three phase approach will allow you to not only lose the weight, but teaches you how to keep it off while incorporating some of your favorite foods. This book is not simply a follow along diet, it teaches you how to eat better while still enjoying great tasting food that you can prepare yourself.

It does take a little bit to get used to the plan, but rest assured the diet is easy to follow and you can easily incorporate the fundamental principles into everyday eating. So far I have lost about 20 pounds, but there are more noteable accomplishments than the weight loss.

Firstly, I no longer find myself drinking Coke or hitting that 3 p.m. wall at work. I have more energy and I am more mentally awake throughout the day. David's approach to eating smaller meals throughout the day really does give your metabolism that boost that you are looking for.

Secondly, I love cooking; I enjoy it, and cook every night. One benefit to this diet is that it provides lots of recipes, but also teaches you why these recipes work so you can still be creative and enjoy your favorite dishes (with some modifications) once you understand what does and doesn't fit into the diet. So for me this is a huge plus to the Ultimate NY Diet Plan.

Furthermore, being someone who loves to go out to eat, I find that once you understand the fundamentals of David's approach you can easily navigate menus for great food that won't leave you feeling guilty.

I have been a fan of Davids since I read his first book Sound Mind, Sound Body. With each additional book that David has written I feel that I have gained such a vast array of knowledge and in turn inspiration. Davids books have helped me weather such dark periods of my life and the latest The Ultimate New York Diet is no exception. Having been going through a very nasty divorce, it would of been very easy for me to reach for my safe haven FOOD!!! Following David's plan not only have I retained the body that he initially helped sculpt out, I have gotten in even better shape. I thank god for David, his philosophy, talent and his vitamin supplements as well. This is book is highly recommended to anyone who cares enough about themselves. We are all worth the difference.
