The recipes in this cookbook are simple and straightforward. The shopping lists are a bonus - you can plan your trip for a week at a time, shopping only once. GREAT for those with a big rig, lots of pantry room, and a good-sized refrigerator. We have a small Scamp trailer, with a tiny fridge and a three-burner gas cooktop. Since over half of the recipes in this book require an oven, it is only half-useful to me, and I don't have room or refrigeration to use the shopping lists or menus. So, if you RV, and want a cookbook for a full RV kitchen, this would be a nice addition. If you have a little trailer w/o an oven or much space, a "camping" cookbook would probably be a better choice.

I bought this book for my in-laws who have a motor home, they travel alot, so I can only go by what they have told me about the book I bought for them. They loved the book, they like to cook outside on the grill as well as inside in the motor home.

Was disappointed with the book. We have a pop-up camper. Almost every recipie in this cookbook requires an oven, so if you have an RV with an oven, you might like this. But usually cooking in those types of RVs is not a large problem.

Love the way this is organized! We're trying to revamp our diet to less processed foods so it didn't quite fit our needs... but it did teach me how to plan & organize meals for 3-4 days at a time with limited storage and refrigeration. Some good recipes for everyone.

Had I been able to flip through more of the pages in this book, I probably would have passed on it. In theory, it's a great idea, but some of the recipes are just weird and I would never make them. But I'm getting ahead of myself....

This book is a really good IDEA. It gives you 9 recipes for each "trip". 12 trips for the book (3 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 3 dinners). Before each set of recipes is a shopping list with all the ingredients that you would need to make each of the 9 meals. There are some interesting recipes in here and I will probably try them, but there is not one 'trip' that has 9 recipes that I would even consider. That's my first complaint.

Second complaint-one of the recipes calls for a crockpot-are you kidding?? I have a pretty put together RV kitchen, but I'm not taking a crockpot on a three day camping trip. One of the others recipes is for waffles-really? How many of us bring a waffle iron on the road? Am I the only one that doesn't?

And thirdly, my last beef (excuse the pun) with this cookbook is that the amount that each recipe feeds varies. Some are for 4 people and some for 6 or 8. Even in the same 'trip'! And several of the recipes are not balanced meals-no veggies whatsoever. That means that you cannot depend on the enclosed shopping list for all your camping items-you're going to have to make an additional one-plus change the stuff around with the meals that are just not going to work.

Don't get me wrong-this is not a worthless cookbook. There are several recipes that I plan on trying out (I'm pretty good at knowing what recipes are going to work for my family and which ones won't), but that's not what this cookbook was billed as, so I'm disappointed.

We have a 5th wheel with a full fridge and stove, so that part was ok. I loved the shopping list and organization aspect. I also liked the variety. What I didn't like was the full cook lunches. That left no time for seeing the sites around your destination. More suited to someone who just parks their rig and doesn't site see. Could use some recipes for a small crock pot. I will use some of the recipes, but will save time by prepping at home before we leave.

It was a nice book and I loved the shopping list in the back. It was just a few too many chicken recipes for my personal taste. I got it for a first time RVer and they loved it.
